  1. 1. Experimental Studies of Charge Transport in Single Crystal Diamond Devices

    Author : Saman Majdi; Jan Isberg; Ricardo S. Sussmann; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Single crystal diamond; carrier transport; CVD diamond; time-of-flight; mobility; IR detector; compensation; diamond diode; drift velocity; thermal detector;

    Abstract : Diamond is a promising material for high-power, high-frequency and high- temperature electronics applications, where its outstanding physical properties can be fully exploited. It exhibits an extremely high bandgap, very high carrier mobilities, high breakdown field strength, and the highest thermal conductivity of any wide bandgap material. READ MORE

  2. 2. Valley-Polarized Charge Transport in Diamond

    Author : Nattakarn Suntornwipat; Jan Isberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CVD diamond; valleytronics; Negative Differential Mobility; NDM; electron polarization; Time-of-Flight; ToF; magnetotransport; carrier transport; drift velocity; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot materialvetenskap; Engineering Science with specialization in Materials Science;

    Abstract : Diamond is a wide bandgap semiconductor with extreme properties such as high thermal conductivity, high breakdown field and high carrier mobilities. These properties together with the possibility to synthesize high purity Single-Crystalline (SC) diamond by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), makes it a really interesting material for electronic devices. 3. 3. Monte Carlo simulation of electron transport in semiconducting zigzag carbon nanotubes

    Author : Kannan Thiagarajan; Ulf Lindefelt; Hans-Erik Nilsson; Michele Goano; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbon nanotubes; Monte Carlo method; drift velocity; mobility; electron-phonon scattering; and electron-defect scattering.;

    Abstract : Since the advent of nanoscale material based electronic devices, there has been a considerable interest in exploring carbon nanotubes from fundamental science and technological perspectives. In carbon nanotubes, the atoms form a cylindrical structure with a diameter of the order 1nm. READ MORE

  4. 4. Diamond Devices Based on Valley Polarization

    Author : Nattakarn Suntornwipat; Jan Isberg; Markus Gabrysch; Saman Majdi; Hitoshi Umezawa; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; CVD diamond; valleytronics; Negative Differential Mobility; NDM; electron polarization; Time-of-Flight; magnetotransport; carrier transport; drift velocity; valley-transistor; Transferred-Electron Oscillator; TEO; TED; Gunn diode;

    Abstract : Diamond is a wide bandgap semiconductor with extreme properties such as high thermal conductivity, high breakdown field, high carrier mobilities and chemical inertness. These properties together with the possibility to synthesize high purity Single-Crystalline (SC) diamond by Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD), make it a very interesting material and a candidate for use in power electronics and in hazardous environments. 5. 5. Essays in education and family economics

    Author : Krzysztof Karbownik; Björn Öckert; Erik Plug; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; teacher mobility; labor supply; gender preferences; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : Paper 1: This paper examines the determinants of teacher turnover using matched employee-employer panel data from Swedish lower and upper secondary schools in a market-oriented institutional environment with a growing private sector and individually negotiated wages. I find statistically significant and robust negative correlations between mobility and monetary compensations. READ MORE
