1. Human response to wind turbine noise : perception, annoyance and moderating factors
Abstract : Aims: The aims of this thesis were to describe and gain an understanding of how people who live in the vicinity of wind turbines are affected by wind turbine noise, and how individual, situational and visual factors, as well as sound properties, moderate the response. Methods: A cross-sectional study was carried out in a flat, mainly rural area in Sweden, with the objective to estimate the prevalence of noise annoyance and to examine the dose-response relationship between A-weighted sound pressure levels (SPLs) and perception of and annoyance with wind turbine noise. 2. Underwater radiated noise from Point Absorbing Wave Energy Converters : Noise Characteristics and Possible Environmental Effects
Abstract : The conversion of wave energy into electrical energy has the potential to become a clean and sustainable form of renewable energy conversion. However, like all forms of energy conversion it will inevitably have an impact on the marine environment, although not in the form of emissions of hazardous substances (gases, oils or chemicals associated with anticorrosion). 3. Classroom noise : exposure and subjective response among pupils
Abstract : In Sweden, all children must have access to education of equal value and the curriculum points out the importance of a good environment for development and learning. Modern working methods differ a lot from the traditional. Teaching nowadays is focused on problem-solving. Students are more interactive, working in groups and projects. READ MORE

5. Experimentally Based HFET Modeling for Microwave and Millimeter Wave Applications
Abstract : Transistor models are very important in the design of Monolithic Microwave Integrated Circuits (MMICs). Circuit simulations based on accurate transistor models are one of the keys to high circuit yield. Transistor models can also be used to trace problems in the device fabrication processes. READ MORE
