  1. 1. Nonlinearity mitigation in phase-sensitively amplified optical transmission links

    University dissertation from ; Chalmers tekniska högskola; Gothenburg

    Author : Kovendhan Vijayan; [2019]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; copier-PSA; nonlinearity mitigation; phase-sensitive amplifier; self-phase modulation mitigation; low-noise amplification; optical transmission; crossphase modulation mitigation;

    Abstract : The fundamental limitations in fiber-optic communication are caused by optical amplifier noise and the nonlinear response of the optical fibers. The quantum-limited noise figure of erbium-doped fiber amplifier (EDFA) or any phase-insensitive amplifier is 3 dB. READ MORE

  2. 2. On Boolean Functions in Symmetric-Key Ciphers

    University dissertation from Department of Information Technology, Lund Univeristy

    Author : Enes Pasalic; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2003]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; autocorrelation properties; correlation attacks; nonlinearity; resiliency; Boolean function; Stream ciphers; block ciphers; Informatics; systems theory; Informatik; systemteori;

    Abstract : This thesis discusses new results on the design and the existence of cryptographically strong Boolean functions used in the design of stream and block ciphers. By interlinking theoretical results and computer search some open problems have been solved, that is, we have shown the existence of previously unknown classes of functions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Evaluation and Compensation of Nonlinear Distortion in Multicarrier Communication Systems

    University dissertation from Department of Information Technology, Lund Univeristy

    Author : Ali Behravan; [2006]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; nonlinearity; Multicarrier communication systems; peak-to-average power ratio;

    Abstract : In modern wireless communication systems with increasing data transfer rateand mobility, designing efficient transceivers is a key issue. Among differentchallenges, nonlinearity of high power amplifiers is a problem that has to beovercome by means of adding extra hardware or using more efficient signalprocessing algorithms. READ MORE

  4. 4. Low Voltage CMOS Radio Receiver Front-End Design

    University dissertation from Department of Electroscience, Lund University

    Author : Fred Tillman; Lund University.; Lunds universitet.; [2005]
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elektroteknik; Electrical engineering; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik och elektroteknik; Electronics and Electrical technology; Polyphase Filter; Quadrature Signals; Nonlinearity; Distortion; Passive Mixer; Mixer; Low Noise Amplifier; CMOS; Front-End; Low Voltage; Radio; Receiver;

    Abstract : The mass production of integrated circuits for digital electronics has made CMOS technology the most frequently used IC process today. Thanks to the large production volume, CMOS has increasingly become the most cost efficient technology of choice, and the fast development of small, high speed CMOS devices has made the technology feasible for many RF applications. 5. 5. Essays on Institutions and Economic Outcomes

    University dissertation from Göteborg : University of Gothenburg

    Author : Daniel Zerfu; Göteborgs universitet.; Gothenburg University.; [2010]
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Africa; agricultural productivity; efficiency; Ethiopia; ethnic nepotism; ethnicity; governance; institutions; investment; land registration; land tenure; nonlinearity; policy reversal; political trust; poverty trap; trust.;

    Abstract : Paper 1 discusses the impact of tenure insecurity on land-related investment and the policy currently in place to promote tenure security. The empirical results, based on the Ethiopian Rural Household Survey panel dataset, show that tenure insecurity has a significant effect in discouraging land-related investments, and that this effect varies with region and type of investment.
