    Abstract : Different kinds of normative claims and statements of “oughtness” infuse the international political environment. But why do some proposed norms become accepted by the international community while others do not? This thesis investigates this central question using two normatively charged international issues as vehicles for explanation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Norm and difference : Stone Age dietary practice in the Baltic region

    Abstract : Stone Age research on Northern Europe frequently makes gross generalizations about the Mesolithic and Neolithic, although we still lack much basic knowledge on how the people lived. Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to investigate norm in contemporary Russian verbal stress. In a first step the concept of norm is explored. It is shown that the criteria generally used in Russian for defining norm (correspondence to the language system, usage and authority/tradition/necessity) are not applied strictly. READ MORE

  4. 4. Norm-Regulation of Agent Systems : Instrumentalizing an algebraic approach to agent system norms

    Author : Magnus Hjelmblom; Magnus Boman; Jan Odelstad; Kim Solin; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Agent System; Norm-regulated; Norm-governed; Normative MAS; Normative Positions; Normative system; Transition system; Computer and Systems Sciences; data- och systemvetenskap;

    Abstract : An architecture for norm-regulated multi-agent systems based on an algebraic approach to normative systems is instrumentalized and further developed. The core of the instrumentalization is a Prolog module, which together with a Java library can be used for creating client/server-based runtime systems. READ MORE

  5. 5. Pluripolar Sets and Pluripolar Hulls

    Author : Tomas Edlund; Burglind Juhl-Jöricke; Norm Levenberg; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : For many questions of complex analysis of several variables classical potential theory does not provide suitable tools and is replaced by pluripotential theory. The latter got many important applications within complex analysis and related fields. Pluripolar sets play a special role in pluripotential theory. READ MORE
