1. Prehospital Diagnosis and Oxygen Treatment in ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction
Abstract : IntroductionPaper I: An Artificial Neural Network (ANN) was constructed to identify ST Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) and predict the need for Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PCI). Paper II, III and IV: Studies suggest that O2 therapy may be harmful in STEMI patients. READ MORE

2. Nuclear medicine methods in idiopathic Parkinsonism : pre- and postsynaptic dopamine SPECT
Abstract : Background: Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) with dopamine transporter (DAT) and dopamine D2 receptor (D2R) ligands can visualise the integrity of the nigrostriatal dopamine system. Parkinson’s disease (PD) and the atypical parkinsonian diseases (APD), progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) and multiple system atrophy (MSA), have similar symptoms and dopamine depletion, but differ in pharmacological response and prognosis. 3. Studies of Nuclear Fuel by Means of Nuclear Spectroscopic Methods
Abstract : The increasing demand for characterization of nuclear fuel, both from an operator and authority point of view, motivates the development of new experimental and, preferable, non-destructive methods. In this thesis, some methods based on nuclear spectroscopic techniques are presented. READ MORE

4. Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck, focusing on Epstein-Barr-virus, programmed cell death ligand 1 and serum lipoproteins
Abstract : Background: Squamous cell carcinoma of the head and neck (SCCHN)comprises a large group of tumours including the oral cavity and nasopharyngealarea, and typically affects older males in association with alcohol/tobacco usage.Within the oral cavity, the mobile tongue is the most common site for tumourdevelopment. 5. On Weapons Plutonium in the Arctic Environment (Thule, Greenland)
Abstract : This thesis concerns a nuclear accident that occurred in the Thule (Pituffik) area, NW Greenland in 1968, called the Thule accident. Results are based on different analytical techniques, i.e. gamma spectrometry, alpha spectrometry, ICP-MS, SEM with EDX and different sediment models, i. READ MORE
