11. η Meson Production in Proton-Proton Collisions at Excess Energies of 40 and 72 MeV
Abstract : The production of η mesons in proton-proton collisions has been studied with the WASA detector using internal pellet targets in the CELSIUS storage ring at the The Svedberg Laboratory in Uppsala. Data were taken at two beam energies, 1360 MeV and 1445 MeV, corresponding to CM excess energies of 40 and 72 MeV, respectively. READ MORE

12. Making predictions using χEFT
Abstract : In this thesis we explore the merits of chiral effective field theory (χEFT) as a model for low-energy nuclear physics. χEFT is an effective field theory based on quantum chromo dynamics (QCD) describing low-energy interactions of nucleons and pions. READ MORE

13. Developments toward a novel methodology for spent nuclear fuel verification
Abstract : One of the tasks in nuclear safeguards is to regularly inspect spent nuclear fuel discharged from nuclear power reactors and verify the integrity of it, so that illegal removal and diversion of radioactive material can be promptly discovered. In the current project, which is a collaboration between Chalmers University of Technology and SCK CEN, a novel methodology for non-intrusive inspection of spent nuclear fuel is under development. 14. Diagnosing Fuel Ions in Fusion Plasmas using Neutron Emission Spectroscopy
Abstract : Neutron emission spectra, measured with the time of flight spectrometer TOFOR, at the joint European torus (JET) are presented in this thesis. TOFOR has been in use since 2005, routinely measuring the neutron emission from JET plasmas. READ MORE

15. Nucleon-Induced Fission Cross Sections of Heavy Nuclei in the Intermediate Energy Region
Abstract : Fission is the most important nuclear reaction for society at large today due to its use in energy production. However, this has raised the problem of how to treat the long-lived radioactive waste from nuclear reactors. READ MORE
