  1. 11. Modelling and analysis of human work situations as a basis for design of human-computer interfaces

    Author : Else Nygren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Many work situations in health care can be described as the control of dynamic processes. In order to design human-computer interfaces dedicated to a specific work situation there is a need to analyse not only the information contents but also the way the information is used. READ MORE

  2. 12. Functional Recovery after Experimental Stroke in Mice- Involvement of Enriched Environment, BDNF and Cell Genesis

    Author : Josefine Nygren; Sektion IV; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; neuropsykologi; neurofysiologi; neurophysiology; Neurologi; Neurology; neuropsychology; functional recovery; focal ischemia; cell genesis; BDNF; enriched environment; mice;

    Abstract : Stroke is caused by an obstruction of blood flow to a part of the brain, resulting in brain damage. Stroke is the third most common cause of death in the industrialized world, and the primary cause of adult-onset disability. READ MORE

  3. 13. Identification of Unique Hematopoietic Stem Cell Properties

    Author : Jens Nygren; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Kardiovaskulära systemet; Cardiovascular system; Hematologi; extracellulära vätskor; Haematology; extracellular fluids; cell cycle; fusion; transdifferentiation; plasticity; Medicine human and vertebrates ; Medicin människa och djur ; quiescence; hematopoietic stem cell; self-renewal;

    Abstract : Hematopoietic stem cells (HSC) are sufficient and required for life long production of all blood cell lineages. Steady state HSCs are largely quiescent and we demonstrate that the kinetics of HSC cell cycling are slower compared to more committed progenitor cells also during expansion and self-renewal ex vivo and in physiological conditions. 4. 14. On the impact of noise and energy demand from traffic : An assessment using microscopic modelling

    Author : Johan Nygren; Susann Boij; Romain Rumpler; Ciarán J. O'Reilly; Arnaud Can; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Traffic simulation; sustainable transport; noise emissions; environmental impact; energy efficiency; Trafiksimulering; hållbar transport; buller; miljöpåverkan; energieffektivitet; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering; Farkostteknik;

    Abstract : Noise emissions from transportation remain one of the greatest environmental issues of modern day. Inhabitants in urban environments are especially exposed, with almost 80 million people in the European Union exposed to noise levels exceeding the recommended limits set by the World Health Organization (WHO). 5. 15. Output feedback control : Some methods and applications

    Author : Johannes Nygren; Kristiaan Pelckmans; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Elektroteknik med inriktning mot reglerteknik; Electrical Engineering with specialization in Automatic Control;

    Abstract : This thesis studies some output feedback control laws. Particularly, iterative learning control (ILC) and decentralized network based algorithms are studied. Applications to control of wastewater treatment plants are outlined. READ MORE
