  1. 6. Studies in Semantic Modeling of Real-World Objects using Perceptual Anchoring

    Author : Andreas Persson; Amy Loutfi; Alessandro Saffiotti; Severin Lemaignan; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Perceptual Anchoring; Semantic World Modeling; Sensor-Driven Acquisition of Data; Object Recognition; Object Classification; Symbol Grounding; Probabilistic Object Tracking;

    Abstract : Autonomous agents, situated in real-world scenarios, need to maintain consonance between the perceived world (through sensory capabilities) and their internal representation of the world in the form of symbolic knowledge. An approach for modeling such representations of objects is through the concept of perceptual anchoring, which, by definition, handles the problem of creating and maintaining, in time and space, the correspondence between symbols and sensor data that refer to the same physical object in the external world. 2. 7. From BIM to VR - The design and development of BIMXplorer

    Author : Mikael Johansson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Building Information Modeling; Virtual Reality VR ; Real-time rendering; Head-mounted display HMD ; BIM;

    Abstract : The architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) industries are currently undergoing a change from a drawing-based form of information exchange to a model-based. Using the concept of Building Information Models (BIM), the content produced by architects and designers has evolved from traditional 2D-drawings to object-oriented 3D-models embedded with information to describe any building in detail. 3. 8. Cardiovascular risk factors and peripheral vascular function in lung transplant recipients

    Author : Martin Silverborn; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : lung transplantation; cardiovascular risk factors; hypertension; arterial compliance; vascular resistance; endothelial function; endothelin-1;

    Abstract : Objective: Cardiovascular disease is a major contributor to morbidity and mortality after organ transplantation. Development of cardiovascular risk factors, like hypertension, is common after transplantation. READ MORE

  4. 9. Prospective Control and Object Representation in Yound Infants : An action-based account

    Author : Bert Jonsson; Claes von Hofsten; Rachel Clifton; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Psychology; psykologi;

    Abstract : The aim of the present thesis was to study the age-related differences of prospective control and object representation in young infants. The overall set of theoretical and empirical issues addressed in this thesis consists of how infants represent and react to visible and non-visible moving objects. READ MORE

  5. 10. User-Centered Collaborative Visualization

    Author : Daniel Cernea; Andreas Kerren; Achim Ebert; Helen C. Purchase; Linnéuniversitetet; []

    Abstract : The last couple of years have marked the entire field of information technology with the introduction of a new global resource, called data. Certainly, one can argue that large amounts of information and highly interconnected and complex datasets were available since the dawn of the computer and even centuries before. READ MORE
