  1. 1. Regulation of the Epstein-Barr virus C promoter by the OriP-EBNA1 complex

    Author : Cecilia Boreström; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : Epstein-Barr virus; EBNA1; NF-Y; Sp1; Oct-2; Bright; E2F1; transcriptional regulation; Cp; oriP;

    Abstract : Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV) is an exclusively human, lymphotropic herpes virus that infects more than 90% of the population worldwide. Primary infection usually occurs during the early years of life and does not result in any recognized disease. READ MORE

  2. 2. Novel methods to synthesize aliphatic polyesters of vivid architectures

    Author : Rajiv Srivastava; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Ronnie Palmgren; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Polyesters; 1; 5-dioxepan-2-one; Caprolactone; Sn Oct 2; Enzyme; Lipase-CA; Ring-Opening Polymerization; Architecture; Tissue Engineering; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : Cross-linked films of ε-caprolactone (CL) and 1,5-dioxepan-2-one (DXO) having various mole fractions of monomers and different cross-link densities were prepared using 2,2’-bis-(-caprolactone-4-yl) propane (BCP) as cross-linking agent and Sn(Oct)2 as catalyst. Reaction parameters were examined to optimize the film-forming conditions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Epstein-Barr virus nuclear antigen 1, Oct and Groucho/TLE in control of promoter regulation

    Author : Jenny Almqvist; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : EBV; Oct-1; Oct-2; Groucho; TLE; transcription; repression; latency;

    Abstract : The human herpes virus Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) is carried by approximately 95% of the adult population. It can form a lifelong latent infection in the B-cells by avoiding our immune system. A latent EBV infection is usually asymptomatic but a few EBV associated cancer forms has been described (e.g. READ MORE

  4. 4. Transcriptional mechanisms directing terminal differentiation of B lineage cells

    Author : Ylva Linderson; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The interaction between the B cell receptor (surface immunoglobulin) and its ligand (antigen) can result in extensive cell growth and induction of differentiation. The terminally differentiated B cell fulfills the ultimate purpose of B cell existence: to secret antibodies in order to protect the organism against invading pathogens. READ MORE

  5. 5. Macromolecular design and architecture of aliphatic polyesters

    Author : Karin Odelius; Ann-Christine Albertsson; Helmut Keul; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ring-opening polymerization; L-lactide; 1; 5-dioxepane-2-one; ε-caprolactone; Polymerization kinetics; Star-shaped architecture; Spirocyclic tin initiator; Polymer chemistry; Polymerkemi;

    Abstract : Public health care has reached a level where tissue or organ reconstruction by means of biodegradable short-term implants via e.g. tissue engineering will be practicable in the near future. READ MORE
