  1. 1. Improved techniques for CE-MALDI-MS off-line coupling and MALDI-MS analysis of primarily hydrophobic proteins and peptides

    Author : Johan Jacksén; Åsa Emmer; Anna Karin/Minna Borg Karlsson/Hakkarainen; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Capillary electrophoresis; Hydrophobic peptides; Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry; Prestructured target; Off-line interface; Silicon microcanal; Matrix; Protein cleavage digestion.; Kapillärelektrofores; Hydrofoba peptider; Matris-assisterad laserdesorptions-joniserings-masspektrometri; Strukturbelagd provplatta; Off-line interface; Mikrokanal i kisel; Matris; Proteinklyvning -spjälkning.; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : Due to the hydrophobic nature of integral membrane proteins (IMP) they give rise to several difficulties concerning handling and analysis, which is not the case for the most water soluble proteins. New analysis methods are needed, where the insolubility problems of the hydrophobic proteins due to aggregation and adhesion are tackled. READ MORE

  2. 2. Improved techniques for CE and MALDI-MS including microfluidic hyphenations foranalysis of biomolecules

    Author : Johan Jacksén; Åsa Emmer; Tomas Bergman; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Capillary electrophoresis; Hydrophobic peptides proteins; Matrix-Assisted Laser Desorption Ionization Mass Spectrometry; Prestructured target; Off-line interface; Silicon micro canal; Matrix; Peptide-fluorescein isothiocyanate adducts; Bovine serum albumin; DHAP; Hyphenations; Hydrophobicity; Single wood fiber analysis; Pre-concentration; Concentration platform; Analytical chemistry; Analytisk kemi;

    Abstract : In this thesis, improved techniques for biomolecule analysis using capillary electrophoresis (CE) and matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionization-mass spectrometry (MALDI-MS) and hyphenations between those have been presented.A pre-concentration method which is possible to apply in both techniques, has also been investigated. 3. 3. Simulation of robot paths and heat effects in welding

    Author : Mikael Ericsson; Institutionen för elektro- och informationsteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Produktionsteknik; Welding; Automation; robotics; Off-line programming; Robotics; Automatiska system; Production technology; control engineering; Finite Element Analysis; reglerteknik; robotteknik;

    Abstract : The objective of this thesis is to develop a simulation tool and a method by which robot trajectories, temperature histories, residual stresses and distortion can be analysed and optimized off-line. This was performed by integrating robot simulation software with finite element analysis software. READ MORE

  4. 4. Exposing the Exposures : Assessing occupational aerosol exposures and their possible health and toxicological effects

    Abstract : According to the Global Burden of Disease study, occupational exposures to particulates, gases and fumes were responsible for 0.36 million deaths and 8.8 million disability-adjusted life years globally in 2015. READ MORE

  5. 5. Reliable Virtual Commissioning

    Author : Henrik Carlsson; Bengt Lennartson; Högskolan Väst; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Virtual commissioning; Simulation based PLC control code verification; Virtual manufacturing; Industrial control system; PLC; Continuous simulation; Manufacturing and materials engineering; Produktions- och materialteknik;

    Abstract : Virtual commissioning is a technique for programming, optimising and verifying industrial automated production, such as robot controllers and programmable logic controllers (PLC), off-line in a simulated environment. Compared with traditional robot off-line programming and simulation, the scope is wider and can include an entire production cell. READ MORE
