Abstract : Chapter 2 investigates an infinitely repeated Bertrand duopoly where firms with different discount factors bargain over which collusive price and market share to implement. The bargaining is modelled as a strategic game and the main results of the paper is that it shows existence of a unique subgame perfect equilibrium and that the least patient firm's equilibrium market share is not monotone in its own discount factor. 2. 2. Essays on Negotiation and Renegotiation in Bertrand Games

Author : Ola Andersson; Nationalekonomiska institutionen; []

Abstract : This licentiate thesis consists of three separate papers that investigate the effects of negotiation and renegotiation in Bertrand games. The first paper investigates collusion in an infinitely repeated Bertrand duopoly where firms have different discount factors. READ MORE

  3. 3. Structure-aided design of antiviral drugs : Application of the method on HIV-1 protease and SIV reverse transcriptase

Author : Hans Ola Andersson; Uppsala universitet; []

Abstract : Many efforts have been made to control the AIDS epidemic. Extensive studies have been done on the biology, biochemistry, and structural biology of HIV in the search for antiviral drugs. The viral-encoded enzymes reverse transcriptase and protease have been main targets for drug design. READ MORE

  4. 4. Effects of Delayed versus Early Cord Clamping on Healthy Term Infants

Author : Ola Andersson; Lena Hellström-Westas; Magnus Domellöf; Heike Rabe; Uppsala universitet; []

Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to study maternal and infant effects of delayed cord clamping (≥180 seconds, DCC) compared to early (≤10 seconds, ECC) in a randomised controlled trial. Practice and guidelines regarding when to clamp the cord vary globally, and different meta-analyses have shown contradictory conclusions on benefits and disadvantages of DCC and ECC. READ MORE
