  1. 1. Numerical Methods for Aerodynamic Shape Optimization

    Author : Olivier Amoignon; Martin Berggren; Per Lötstedt; Olivier Pironneau; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Computational Fluid Dynamics; shape optimization; adjoint equations; edge-based finite-volume method; moving mesh adaptation; radial basis functions; inviscid compressible flow; transition control; Numerical Analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : Gradient-based aerodynamic shape optimization, based on Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis of the flow, is a method that can automatically improve designs of aircraft components. The prospect is to reduce a cost function that reflects aerodynamic performances. READ MORE

  2. 2. Exploring different thermoplastics from lignocellulosic building blocks and monomers

    Author : Olivier Bonjour; Centrum för analys och syntes; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Biobased plastics; Biobased polymers; Polymethacrylates; Polycarbonates; Polyesters; Poly beta-thioether ester s; Chemical recycling; Biobased plastics; Biobased polymers; Polycarbonates; Polymethacrylates; Poly beta-thioether ester s; Polyesters; Chemical recycling;

    Abstract : The need to replace conventional fossil-based plastics is becoming more imperative. As climate change is more visibly affecting our society, employing non-sustainable resources to produce plastics is aggravating the problem. READ MORE

  3. 3. Adjoint-based aerodynamic shape optimization

    Author : Olivier Amoignon; Martin Berggren; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Numerical Analysis; Numerisk analys;

    Abstract : An adjoint system of the Euler equations of gas dynamics is derived in order to solve aerodynamic shape optimization problems with gradient-based methods. The derivation is based on the fully discrete flow model and involves differentiation and transposition of the system of equations obtained by an unstructured and node-centered finite-volume discretization. 4. 4. Organization of Nanoparticles in Solution-A TEM Study

    Author : Olivier Balmes; Lunds universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Materiallära; materialteknik; Material technology; organisation; plunge freezing; TEM; nanoparticle; transmission electron microscopy;

    Abstract : A new approach to the study of nanoparticle systems has been introduced. Nanoparticle systems in aqueous and organic solutions have been synthesized and studied by transmission electron microscopy. These systems include nanoparticles of gold, silver, palladium, ruthenium, and platinum which have been stabilized using various ligands. READ MORE

  5. 5. Evolution of the groundwater geochemistry in sulphide bearing tailings remediated by applying till cover, Kristineberg, Northern Sweden

    Author : Olivier Corrège; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Applied Geology; Tillämpad geologi;

    Abstract : At the Kristineberg mine in northern Sweden, sulphide-rich tailings were remediated in 1996 by applying till covers. The sulphides were isolated from the atmosphere to prevent oxidation. READ MORE
