  1. 1. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance in Diffuse Neurological and Liver Disease

    Author : Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard; Peter Lundberg; Anne-Marie Landtblom; Marcel Warntjes; Eva Lund; Göran Starck; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiological physics; Radiofysik;

    Abstract : Introduction: Magnetic resonance (MR) imaging is one of the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine. Compared to other imaging modalities, it provides superior soft tissue contrast of all parts of the body and it is considered to be safe for patients. READ MORE

  2. 2. Quantitative magnetic resonance in diffuse liver and neurological disease

    Author : Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : Mapping--methods; Choline--analysis; Liver diseases--diagnosis; Magnetic resonance imaging--methods; Magnetic resonance spectroscopy--methods; Multiple sclerosis--diagnosis; Multiple sclerosis--metabolism; Nerve fibers; myelinated--metabolism; MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Magnetic resonance (MR) has become one of the most important diagnostic tools in modern medicine. It provides superior soft tissue contrast compared to other imaging modalities, it is extremely flexible as it can be used to image all parts of the body, and it is considered to be safe for patients. Abstract : The liver is one of the largest organs within the human body and it handles many vital tasks such as nutrient processing, toxin removal, and synthesis of important proteins. The number of people suffering from chronic liver disease is on the rise, likely due to the present ‘western’ lifestyle. READ MORE

  4. 4. Fat-Referenced MRI : Quantitative MRI for Tissue Characterization and Volume Measurement

    Author : Thobias Romu; Magnus Borga; Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard; Samir Sharma; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; MRI; water-fat separation; quantitative MRI;

    Abstract : The amount and distribution of adipose and lean tissues has been shown to be predictive of mortality and morbidity in metabolic disease. Traditionally these risks are assessed by anthropometric measurements based on weight, length, girths or the body mass index (BMI). READ MORE

  5. 5. Quantitative Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain : Applications for Tissue Segmentation and Multiple Sclerosis

    Author : Janne West; Peter Lundberg; Anne-Marie Landtblom; Marcel Jan Bertus Warntjes; Örjan Smedby; Olof Dahlqvist Leinhard; Per Thunberg; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is a sensitive technique for assessing white matter (WM) lesions in multiple sclerosis (MS), but there is a low correlation between MRI findings and clinical disability. Because of this, other pathological changes are of interest, including changes in normal appearing white matter (NAWM) and diffusely abnormal white matter (DAWM). READ MORE
