  1. 11. Contribution to Wideband SAR Space-Time Processing, and Radar Remote Sensing of Sea Ice

    Author : Mats I. Pettersson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; SAR; clutter suppression; space time adaptive processing; backprojection; remote sensing; moving target detection; radar scattering; Antenna array; wide band; sea ice;

    Abstract : Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) has the capability to map the Earth with high resolution and is used in both civilian and military applications. The development of SAR systems is going towards higher resolution. Today there are Wide Band (WB) SAR instruments that have a resolution actually smaller than the operating wavelength. READ MORE

  2. 12. Integrated Communications and Thermal Management Systems for Microsystem-based Spacecraft : A Multifunctional Microsystem Approach

    Author : Henrik Kratz; Anders Rydberg; Johan Köhler; Pelle Rangsten; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Electronics; nanospacecraft; MST; MEMS; silicon; communication; thermal management; antenna; paraffin; PCM; multifunctional; microsystems; Elektronik; Electronics; Elektronik;

    Abstract : This thesis explores the potential of multifunctional silicon-based microsystems for advanced integrated nanospacecraft (AIN). Especially, multifunctional microsystems with the coexistant functions of communications and thermal management implemented in multilayer silicon stacks are approached with systems study. READ MORE

  3. 13. Microsystems Technology for Underwater Vehicle Applications

    Author : Jonas Jonsson; Greger Thornell; Hugo Nguyen; Johan Köhler; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis work has been to investigate how miniaturization, such as microsystems technology, can potentially increase the scientific throughput in exploration of hard-to-reach underwater environments, such as the subglacial lakes of Antarctica, or other challenging environments, including cave systems and wrecks. A number of instruments and subsystems applicable to miniature submersibles have been developed and studied, and their potential to provide a high functionality density for size-restricted exploration platforms has been assessed.
