  1. 6. Structure and morphology control of organic semiconductors for functional optoelectronic applications

    Author : Jenny Enevold; Ludvig Edman; Thomas Wågberg; Christian Müller; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Organic electronics; organic photonics; patterning; fullerene; polymerization; dimerization; spray-deposition; morphology; small molecule donor; high open-circuit voltage;

    Abstract : The functionality and application of organic semiconductors are largely dependent on their constituent structure and morphology. This thesis presents a number of functional and novel approaches for the control and tuning of structural and morphological features of a variety of organic semiconductor materials, and also demonstrates that these approaches can be utilized for improved device operation of field-effect transistors, organic solar cells and light-emitting electrochemical cells. 2. 7. Some aspects of cryptographic protocols : with applications in electronic voting and digital watermarking

    Author : Björn Terelius; Douglas Wikström; Helger Lipmaa; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Cryptographic protocols are widely used on the internet, from relatively simple tasks such as key-agreement and authentication to much more complex problems like digital cash and electronic voting. Electronic voting in particular is a problem we investigate in this thesis. READ MORE

  3. 8. Security and Efficiency Tradeoffs in Multicast Group Key Management

    Author : Claudiu Duma; Nahid Shahmehri; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Key management; Multicast communication; Security-efficiency tradeoffs; Collusion resistance; Push-oriented approaches; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : An ever-increasing number of Internet applications, such as content and software distribution, distance learning, multimedia streaming, teleconferencing, and collaborative workspaces, need efficient and secure multicast communication. However, efficiency and security are competing requirements and balancing them to meet the application needs is still an open issue. READ MORE

  4. 9. Noise Applications in Light Water Reactors with Traveling Perturbations

    Author : Victor Dykin; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Green s function technique; transit times; decay ratio; cross-correlation function; void fraction; global and regional instabilities; propagating density perturbation; BWR stability; reduced order models; non-white driving force; local component; Monte Carlo; space-dependent neutron noise; density wave oscillations;

    Abstract : Neutron noise induced by perturbations traveling with the coolant of light water reactors (LWRs) is investigated. Different methods to simulate the effect of propagating perturbations are considered. The studies are performed in both open- and closed-loop systems and summarized in three chapters. READ MORE

  5. 10. Laparoscopy Diagnostic applications in suspected appendicitis and access-related complications

    Author : Ann-Cathrin Moberg; Kirurgi; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Surgery; orthopaedics; complications; laparoscopy; diagnostic laparoscopy; ortopedi; traumatologi; traumatology; Kirurgi;

    Abstract : Laparoscopic surgery was introduced to minimize patient trauma. However, fatal technique specific complications, due to major vascular or visceral injury, were at times seen related to blind abdominal access using the Veress technique. READ MORE
