  1. 1. Evaluation, Experience and Potential of Gas Turbine Based Cycles with Humidification

    Author : Torbjörn Lindquist; Kraftverksteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Model Validation; Recuperator; Flue Gas Condensation; Humidification; Gas Turbine; Advanced Thermodynamic Cycles; HAT; Humid Air Turbine; Evaporative Gas Turbine Cycle; EvGT; Operating Experience; EvGT Pilot Plant; Thermal engineering; applied thermodynamics; Termisk teknik; termodynamik;

    Abstract : Gas turbines, in simple and combined cycle, are common and economically profitable on the power generating market today. Several new cycles have been proposed as future competing technologies, but all studies about these cycles have, so far, been paperwork. READ MORE

  2. 2. Aeronautical decision-making in context: Influence of affect and experience on procedure violations

    Author : Johan Lindvall; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Aviation; Decision-making; Violations; Non-technical skills; Experience; Affect; Overconfidence;

    Abstract : Although pilots are well trained and there are rules, models and standard operating procedures to use in decision-making situations, aviation accidents do occur. One reason why accidents may occur is because pilots sometimes decide to violate, or deviate from standard operating procedures. READ MORE

  3. 3. Patients and Staff in the Hybrid Operating Room: Experiences and Challenges

    Author : May Bazzi; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; hybrid operating room; patient experience; nursing staff; endovascular aortic repair; teamwork; video recordings; interviews; radiology; surgery; anesthesia;

    Abstract : The hybrid operating room (OR), which combines a traditional OR with a radiological intervention room, is one example of the technical advancements within hospitals. In a hybrid OR, the staff have to manage the technique confidently in a not completely familiar environment and still be able to care for the vulnerable patient in the safest way. READ MORE

  4. 4. Understanding Opioid Therapy in Chronic Pain : Assessment, Lived Experience and Conceptions

    Author : Hanna Ljungvall; Pernilla Åsenlöf; Nitya Jayaram-Lindström; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The overarching aim of this thesis was to improve the understandings of opioid therapy for chronic non-cancer pain (CNCP) by examining the feasibility of different assessment methods of substance use, and opioid use disorder (OUD), and exploring the sense-making of opioid therapy in CNCP.  Methods: In study I, the reliability of the Addiction Severity Index Self-Report form (ASI-SR) was assessed by the agreement (intraclass correlation (ICC)) between the composite scores (CS) of the ASI interview and the ASI-SR, internal consistency of the CS subscales measured with Cronbach’s α, and sensitivity and specificity of the alcohol and drug CS’s, using Receiver Operating Characteristics analyses. 5. 5. Towards Optimal Quality of Experience via Scalable Video Coding

    Author : Pengpeng Ni; Damir Isovic; Mats Björkman; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Quality-of-Experience; advanced video coding; MPEG-4; H264 AVC; Computer science; Datavetenskap; Computer Science; datavetenskap;

    Abstract : To provide universal multimedia experience, multimedia streaming services need to transparently handle the variation and heterogeneity in operating environment. From the standpoint of streaming application, video adaptation techniques are intended to cope with the environmental variations by utilizing manipulations of the video content itself. READ MORE
