16. Electronic and Vibrational Coherence in Photosynthetic and Model Systems
Abstract : Ultrafast optical response and excitation energy dynamics in light harvesting pigment-protein complexes and in a few model systems have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. Femtosecond light pulses were employed to excite the system and monitor the subsequent time evolution of the transient absorption kinetics and anisotropy. READ MORE

17. Measurements of Oscillator Strengths in Fe, Zr, Mo and Ce
Abstract : Atomic data are needed in many different areas of science and technology. Examples of users are the astronomical community and the lighting industry. In this work, the purpose of the projects has been to produce reliable atomic data needed to solve specific astrophysical problems. READ MORE

18. Diode-laser absorption spectroscopy - applications in medicine and environmental monitoring
Abstract : A major part of this thesis work has been research in a medical project, where, together with industry and clinical partners, the aim was to develop a prototype system for non-invasive monitoring of premature babies based on the optical measurement technique gas in scattering media absorption spectroscopy (GASMAS). Part of the project was to develop a 3D-printed tissue phantom based on chest X-ray images of the thorax of a premature infant. READ MORE

19. Development and Use of Optical Remote Sensing Methods for Studies of Megacity Air Pollution and Volcanic Gas Emissions
Abstract : Optical Remote Sensing Techniques offers the opportunity to, in real-time, obtain line averaged measurements of gases in the lower and upper atmosphere. These techniques easily offer themselves to automatization, which increases their usability for e.g. READ MORE

20. Dynamics of Excitation Transfer and Charge Separation in Polymeric Semiconductors
Abstract : Dynamics of optically excited electronic states have been studied in solid films and solutions of semiconducting polymers and model compounds. Transient absorption, monitored in the spectral range from 0.9 eV to 2.5 eV with a time resolution of about 100 fs, was the main experimental technique. READ MORE
