6. Catalytic Functionalization of Allylic Substrates by Palladium Pincer Complexes
Abstract : This thesis is based on the development of novel catalytic reactions for the synthesis and application of organometallic reagents. The main focus is directed towards organoboronate derivatives. We developed an efficient procedure for converting allylic alcohols to the corresponding allylboronates using palladium pincer complexes as catalysts. READ MORE

7. Transition Metal Hydrides : Biomimetic Studies and Catalytic Applications
Abstract : In this thesis, studies of the nature of different transition metal-hydride complexes are described. The first part deals with the enantioswitchable behaviour of rhodium complexes derived from amino acids, applied in asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones. READ MORE

8. Theoretical modeling of metal- and enzyme catalyzed transformations
Abstract : This thesis is focused on describing and predicting catalytic reactions. The major part of the work is based on density functional theory (DFT). In some cases where the size of the investigated system precluded the use of more accurate methods molecular dynamics was employed. READ MORE

9. Asymmetric Synthesis and Mechanistic Insights of Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Hydrogenation
Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is focused on asymmetric synthesis and mechanistic insights of hydrogenations catalyzed by Ir-N,P- and Rh-diphosphine complexes. The developed methodologies provide an efficient catalytic system to access optically enriched compounds by exploiting the effect of the N,P ligand structure and investigating the enantioconvergent behavior. 10. Synthesis of functionalized allylic, propargylic and allenylic compounds : Selective formation of C–B, C–C, C–CF3 and C-Si bonds
Abstract : This thesis is focused on the development of new palladium and copper- mediated reactions for functionalization of alkenes and propargylic alcohol derivatives. The synthetic utility of the 1,2-diborylated butadienes synthesized in one of these processes has also been demonstrated. READ MORE
