21. Synthesis and functionalization of ring-fused 2-pyridones : Targeting pili formation in E. coli
Abstract : Bicyclic dihydrothiazolo fused 2-pyridones have been studied as a new class of antibacterial agents, termed pilicides, that target the formation of adhesive bacterial surface organelles (pili) in pathogenic bacteria. Synthetic methods to further functionalize the bicyclic 2-pyridone scaffold have been developed in order to increase water-solubility and thereby facilitate biological evalua-tions. READ MORE

22. Molecular design, synthesis and performance evaluation of phenothiazine-based small molecules for efficient organic solar cells
Abstract : Photovoltaics offers one of the most promising routes to generate electricity in a clean way. As an emerging technology in photovoltaics, organic solar cells (OSC) have attracted a great deal of attention owing to their potential low-cost, lightweight, flexibility and solution processability. 23. Design, Synthesis and Thermodynamic Studies of Galectin Ligands
Abstract : The signaling within and between cells in biology is governed by molecular recognition between natural or synthetic ligands and proteins. This thesis project aimed to investigate the thermodynamic properties of specific interaction between synthetic ligands and galectin proteins. READ MORE
