  1. 16. Organocatalytic Acylation for the Kinetic Resolution of Secondary Aryl Alcohols : Synthetic Applications and Mechanistic Studies

    Author : Laura Mesas Sánchez; Peter Dinér; Pavel Kočovský; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; kinetic resolution; organocatalysis; secondary alcohols; reaction progress kinetic analysis; Chemistry with specialization in Organic Chemistry; Kemi med inriktning mot organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The research described in this thesis focuses on the catalytic acylative kinetic resolution (KR) of aromatic secondary alcohols, using a planar-chiral 4-(dimethylamino)pyridine (DMAP) organocatalyst.In the first part of this thesis, the substrate scope of the above mentioned process was expanded to aromatic secondary alcohols that contain an extra functional group in the alkyl moiety, such as 1,2-azido alcohols, 2-hydroxy-2-aryl-ethylphosphonates and 2-hydroxy-2-aryl esters. 3. 18. Catalysis in Dynamic Systems: Control within Molecular Reaction Networks

    Author : Fredrik Schaufelberger; Olof Ramström; Leonard Prins; KTH; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; systems chemistry; dynamic covalent chemistry; catalyst screening; reaction networks; organocatalysis; imine exchange; combinatorial chemistry; dynamic systemic resolution; feedback; error-correction; Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction; C-H activation; H-bond catalysis; transamination; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Life as we know it is based on complex networks of biochemical reactions that constantly interact within large dynamic systems. The field of systems chemistry uses chemical models to study how reaction networks – and thereby life – function on a molecular level. READ MORE

  4. 19. N-Heterocyclic Carbene Catalysis in Organic Synthesis - A Green Chemistry Approach

    Author : Linda Ta; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; aerobic oxidation; ionic liquid; sustainability; NHC catalysis; oxidative NHC catalysis; green chemistry; OTHO; Organocatalysis;

    Abstract : The twelve principles of green chemistry were created as a response to the multiple environmental issues caused by the release of waste from the chemical industry. The principles acts as a guide in the development of sustainable chemical processes for the syntheses of important molecules needed to sustain our living standards. READ MORE

  5. 20. Highly enantioselective synthesis of lactam and sugar derivatives by chiral aminocatalysis and merging with transition metal catalysis

    Author : Zhang Kaiheng; Armando Cordova; Malkov Andrei; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis presented novel methodologies for enantioselectivesynthesis of highly functionalized lactam and sugar derivatives.Asymmetric organocatalysis, cooperative dual catalysis and one-pot multicomponent reaction strategies were applied for the construction of continuous and quaternary stereogenic center.
