  1. 1. Mobile phones in school: From disturbing objects to infrastructure for learning

    Author : Torbjörn Ott; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; mobile phone; upper secondary school; teachers; students; public debate; infrastructure for learning;

    Abstract : Amid digitalisation, the mobile phone has pervaded society and become one of the most widespread digital technologies. In school, the mobile phone has stirred up conflicts and tensions visible in public debate as well as classrooms. Teachers and students have struggled to manage mobile phones within the boundaries of school practice. READ MORE

  2. 2. Pharmacological stimulation of endothelial function and long-term impact of hypertension in man

    Author : Ott Saluveer; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; t-PA; hypertension; fibrinolysis; endothelial function; valproic acid; histone deacetylase inhibitor; atorvastatin;

    Abstract : Background: Ischemic heart disease is a major cause of death globally. Rupture of a coronary atherosclerotic plaque with occluding thrombus formation is the main cause of myocardial ischemia and infarction. READ MORE

  3. 3. In the age of IoT : exploring public sector smartness

    Author : Ott Velsberg; Katrin Jonsson; Ulrika H. Westergren; Ulf Melin; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Internet of Things; Smartness; Public sector; data- och systemvetenskap; computer and systems sciences;

    Abstract : Smartness, which is emerging as a desirable attribute of governments, cities, and communities, has received heightened attention from researchers and practitioners. Smartness is a technology-centric view in which it is postulated that the public sector can become more resilient by adopting emergent technologies that improve efficiency, equality, citizen-centricity, transparency, collaboration, and security, thereby shaping the public sector to meet new demands and expectations. 4. 4. Novel Approaches to Phosphorus-containing Heterocycles and Cumulenes

    Author : Anna Arkhypchuk; Sascha Ott; John D. Protasiewicz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; phosphorus; phosphole; oxaphosphole; cumulene; phospha-Wittig-Horner reagent; molecular electronics; Chemistry; Kemi;

    Abstract : Fast development in all areas of life and science over the last 50 years demands versatile, energy efficient and cheap materials with specific but easily tuneable properties which can be used for example in organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), thin-film transistors, photovoltaic cells, etc. This thesis is devoted to the development of novel synthetic approaches to molecules with potential applications in the field of molecular electronics. 5. 5. Novel electrode and photoelectrode materials for hydrogen production based on molecular catalysts

    Author : Andrew J. Bagnall; Leif Hammarström; Vincent Artero; Sascha Ott; Alexander Cowan; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; electrochemical mechanism; hydrogen; artificial photosynthesis; molecular catalyst; hydrogen evolution; cobalt; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : The PhD project focussed on the application of a cobalt tetraazamacrocyclic complex, in the literature commonly referred to as [Co(CR)Cl2]+ as a molecular catalyst for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). This was within the broader scope of the EU MSCA H2020 ITN ‘eSCALED’ project, which primarily aimed to create artificial leaf devices for the storage of solar energy in chemical fuels and, as part of this, sought the development of novel bio-inspired and scalable materials.
