  1. 1. Intermediate heat exchange in binary distillation

    Author : Ingela Niklasson Björn; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Intermediate heat exchange; Efficiency.; Diabatic distillation;

    Abstract : AbstractThe overall reason for investigating intermediate heat exchange in diabatic distillation is to enable a reduction in external energy demand.This thesis applies computer simulations and experimental measurements to evaluate and analyse the use of intermediate heat exchange in binary distillation. 2. 2. Combining simulation and optimization for improved decision support on energy efficiency in industry

    Author : Nawzad Mardan; Mats Söderström; Magnus Karlsson; Erik Dahlquist; Högskolan i Gävle; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy efficiency; Integration; Optimization; Simulation;

    Abstract : Industrial production systems in general are very complex and there is a need for decision support regarding management of the daily production as well as regarding investments to increase energy efficiency and to decrease environmental effects and overall costs. Simulation of industrial production as well as energy systems optimization may be used in such complex decision-making situations. READ MORE

  3. 3. Industrial electricity demand and energy efficiency policy

    Author : Eva Henriksson; Joachim Schleich; Luleå tekniska universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This dissertation consists of an introduction and five self-contained papers addressing the issues of industrial electricity demand and the role of energy efficiency policy. An important context for the study is the increased interest in so-called voluntary energy efficiency programs in which different types of tax exemptions are granted if the participating firms carry out energy efficiency measures following an energy audit. 4. 4. Process intensification in mechanical pulping : Reduced process complexity and improved energy efficiency

    Author : Christer Sandberg; Per Engstrand; Jan-Erik Berg; Göran Bengtsson; Mittuniversitetet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY;

    Abstract : This work shows that, for newsprint quality grades, the production processes for mechanical pulp can be simplified, and the specific electrical energy demand can be reduced with around 600 kWh/ton (30%). The purpose of the work is to demonstrate how the production cost for mechanical pulps can be decreased through increased energy efficiency and reduced number of unit operations. READ MORE

  5. 5. Theory and Design of Efficient Active Load Modulation Power Amplifiers

    Author : Han Zhou; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; GaN; circulator; non-reciprocity; Doherty power amplifier; Combiner synthesis; CLMA; deep power back-off; energy efficiency;

    Abstract : The increasing demand for mobile data traffic has put new challenges and requirements for the development of the wireless communication infrastructure. The performance of the RF power amplifier (PA) is, in particular, of great importance, since it is the key building block for microwave transmitters in base stations and radio link equipment.
