  1. 21. Learning from Experience : The Use of Structured Video-Assisted Debriefing Among Nursing Students

    Author : Hui Zhang; Evalotte Mörelius; Wang Wenru; Elisabeth Carlson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Simulation; Video-assisted debriefing; Nursing students; Debriefing experience; Reflective ability; Debriefing practice;

    Abstract : Background: Simulation enhances experiential learning through creating experience to form the basis of learning, and it has been recognized as an effective pedagogy in current health professions education. As an integral element of simulation, debriefing contributes to transforming the created experience to new knowledge. READ MORE

  2. 22. Pharmacogenomics of Antihypertensive Treatment & Clinical Pharmacological Studies of Digoxin Treatment

    Author : Pär Hallberg; Håkan Melhus; Ann-Christine Syvänen; Lars Lind; Jiguang Wang; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Molecular medicine; pharmacogenomics; irbesartan; atenolol; hypertension; digoxin; RIKS-HIA; atrial fibrillation; heart failure; Molekylärmedicin; Molecular medicine genetics and pathology ; Molekylär medicin genetik och patologi ;

    Abstract : In Part I we found that the CYP2C9 genotype appears to influence the diastolic blood pressure response to the angiotensin II-receptor antagonist irbesartan in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy. Those with the *1/*2 genotype (slower metabolism) responded better than those with the *1/*1 genotype (normal metabolism), likely due to a slower elimination of the drug. READ MORE

  3. 23. Gas chromatography-atmospheric pressure chemical ionization-tandem mass spectrometry methods for the determination of environmental contaminants

    Abstract : The recent developments and improvements of instrumental methods for the analyses of the environmental contaminants, especially the persistent organic pollutants (POPs), have made it possible to detect and quantify these at very low concentrations in environmental and biotic matrices.The main objective of this thesis is to demonstrate the capability of the atmospheric pressure chemical ionization technique (APCI), using gas chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry for the determination of a wide range of environmental contaminants, including the POPs regulated by Stockholm Convention, such as polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans (PCDD/Fs), polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDEs), but also the derivates of PBDEs and novel brominated flame retardants (NBFRs). 4. 24. Doping and Density of States Engineering for Organic Thermoelectrics

    Author : Guangzheng Zuo; Martijn Kemerink; Ergang Wang; Mariano Campoy-Quiles; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Thermoelectric materials can turn temperature differences directly into electricity. To use this to harvest e.g. waste heat with an efficiency that approaches the Carnot efficiency requires a figure of merit ZT larger than 1. READ MORE

  5. 25. Focal ischemic reperfusion stroke model in rats and the role of galanin

    Author : Lovisa Holm; Annette Theodorsson; Elvar Theodorsson; Tomas Hökfelt; Yanlin Wang-Fischer; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICINE; MEDICIN;

    Abstract : Stroke is the third most common cause for mortality in industrialised countries and amongst the major causes of long- time morbidity. While the mortality due to myocardial infarction has been dramatically reduced during the last 10-15 years, mortality due to stroke remains almost the same, despite the fact that the two share similar basic pathogenic mechanisms including atherosclerosis, hypertension and diabetes.
