  1. 1. Synthesis and Evaluation of N,P-Chelating Ligands in Asymmetric Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Reactions : Ir-Catalyzed Asymmetric Hydrogenation and Pd-Catalyzed Asymmetric Intermolecular Heck Reaction

    Author : Päivi Tolstoy; Pher G. Andersson; Göran Hilmersson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Heck reaction; N; P ligand; Iridium; Palladium; Asymmetric catalysis; Alkenes; Fluorine; Diarylmethine stereocenters; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis describes synthesis of new chiral N,P ligands and their evaluation in two types of asymmetric transition-metal catalyzed reactions. The first part of the thesis describes studies in iridium-catalyzed asymmetric hydrogenation. READ MORE

  2. 2. NHC,P- and N,P-Iridium Catalysts for Hydrogenations and Hydrogen Transfer Reactions

    Author : Sutthichat Kerdphon; Pher Andersson; Anton Vidal; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Iridium catalyst; carbene; N; P-ligand; asymmetric hydrogenation; alkylation; hydrogen transfer reaction; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The work described in this thesis is focused on hydrogenation and hydrogen transfer reactions using iridium catalysts. The first part concerns the use of N-heterocyclic carbene-phosphine iridium complexes in alkylation reactions (Chapters 2 and 3) and the hydrogenation of ketones (Chapter 4). READ MORE

  3. 3. Hydrogenation, Transfer Hydrogenation and Hydrogen Transfer Reactions Catalyzed by Iridium Complexes

    Author : Xu Quan; Pher Andersson; Jonathan Williams; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Iridium catalyst; carbene; N; P - ligand; asymmetric hydrogenation; transfer hydrogenation; hydrogen transfer reaction; alkylation; olefin; ketone; amide; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The work described in this thesis is focused on the development of new bidentate iridium complexes and their applications in the asymmetric reduction of olefins, ketones and imines. Three new types of iridium complexes were synthesized, which included pyridine derived chiral N,P-iridium complexes, achiral NHC complexes and chiral NHC-phosphine complexes. READ MORE

  4. 4. The synthesis of chiral bidentate (N,N), (N,P) and (N,O) ligands and their use in metal-mediated asymmetric carbon-carbon bond formation

    Author : Fredrik Johansson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Chemistry; Kemi; Chemistry; Kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis covers three projects based on the metal-mediated formation of new chiral centers in the prescence of chiral ligands. The first project, involving (N,N)- ligands, concerns the synthesis of some (C2-symmetric bis(aziridine) ligands and the use of these in the addition of organolithium reagents to N-aryl protected imines leading to enantioselectivities of up to 89%. 5. 5. Asymmetric Synthesis and Mechanistic Insights of Transition-Metal-Catalyzed Hydrogenation

    Author : Jianping Yang; Pher G. Andersson; Clément Mazet; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Asymmetric hydrogenation; Iridium catalysis; Rhodium catalysis; Chiral organofluorine; Enantioconvergent catalysis; Arene hydrogenation; Organic Chemistry; organisk kemi;

    Abstract : The work presented in this thesis is focused on asymmetric synthesis and mechanistic insights of hydrogenations catalyzed by Ir-N,P- and Rh-diphosphine complexes. The developed methodologies provide an efficient catalytic system to access optically enriched compounds by exploiting the effect of the N,P ligand structure and investigating the enantioconvergent behavior.
