  1. 1. On Cross-Layer Design and Resource Scheduling in Wireless Networks

    Author : Pablo Soldati; Mikael Johansson; P.R. P.R. Kumar; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Telecommunication; Telekommunikation;

    Abstract : Wireless technology has revolutionized the world of communications, enabling ubiquitous connectivity and leading every year to several new applications and services embraced by billions of users. To meet the increasing demand for high data-rate wireless services, standardization bodies and vendors released a new generation of standard-based devices capable to offer wide area high-speed and high-quality wireless coverage. 2. 2. Turbulent Boundary Layer Separation and Control

    Author : Ola Lögdberg; P. Henrik Alfredsson; Jens Fransson; Guido Buresti; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Flow control; adverse pressure gradient APG ; flow separation; vortex generators; jet vortex generators; pulsed jet vortex generators; Fluid mechanics; Strömningsmekanik;

    Abstract : Boundary layer separation is an unwanted phenomenon in most technical applications, as for instance on airplane wings, ground vehicles and in internal flow systems. If separation occurs, it causes loss of lift, higher drag and energy losses. It is thus essential to develop methods to eliminate or delay separation. READ MORE

  3. 3. An experimental investigation of disturbance growth in boundary layer flows

    Author : Thomas Kurian; P. Henrik Alfredsson; Jens H. M. Fransson; Edward B. White; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Fluid mechanics; Strömningsmekanik; Other engineering mechanics; Övrig teknisk mekanik;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with the early stages of transition to turbulence in two different baseflows, namely the Falkner-Skan-Cooke boundary layer (FSC) and the asymptotic suction boundary layer (ASBL). Grid-generated turbulence is studied in order to characterise the isotropy levels, free-stream turbulence levels and characteristic length scales that will be present in the receptivity study. 4. 4. Strain-assisted corrosion cracking and growth rate inhibitors

    Author : Andrey P Jivkov; Mekanik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; vacuum technology; vibration and acoustic engineering; Maskinteknik; hydraulik; vakuumteknik; vibrationer; akustik; materialteknik; Mechanical engineering; Material technology; Materiallära; Stress intensity factor; Inhomogeneous materials; Crack evolution; Stress corrosion cracking; Moving boundary; hydraulics;

    Abstract : A model for evolution of cracks as a result of strain-assisted corrosion is presented. The considered cracks possess a realistic geometry, where the tip region is an integral part of the crack surface instead of being a singular point. This geometry is either implicitly defined or is a consequence of crack nucleation from surface irregularities. READ MORE

  5. 5. Growth and microstructure of reactive sputter deposited boron nitride : carbon (BN:C) thin films

    Author : Mats P. Johansson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : Growth, microstructure and mechanical properties of boron nitride: carbon (BN:C) have been studied in films prepared by reactive r.f. diode sputter deposition as well as by reactive unbalanced d.c. READ MORE
