  1. 1. The role and mechanism of ubiquitin system in innate immune regulation

    Author : Swarupa Panda; Nelson O. Gekara; Fredrik Elgh; Anna Överby; Geert van Loo; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; The ubiquitin system; Deubiquitinase; MYSM1; Innate immune regulation Toll-like receptor; RIG-l like receptors; Cytoplasmic DNA receptors; NOD-like receptors; Francisella tularensis; Immune subversion; molekylärbiologi; Molecular Biology;

    Abstract : Pattern-recognition receptors (PRRs) include the cell surface or endosomal membrane localized Toll-like receptors (TLRs) and the cytoplasmic PRRs such as RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs), NOD-like receptors (NLRs) and cytoplasmic DNA receptors (CDRs). Triggering of PRRs culminates in the transcriptional induction of pro-inflammatory cytokines and type I interferons (IFNs) that coordinate protection against pathogens but require tight control to avert inflammatory diseases. 2. 2. Exploring the Merits and Challenges of Hyperon Physics : with PANDA at FAIR

    Author : Walter Ikegami Andersson; Karin Schönning; Michael Papenbrock; Tord Johansson; Volker Crede; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hadron physics; Hyperon; Track reconstruction; Non-perturbative QCD; Spin observables; PANDA; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics;

    Abstract : Binary hyperon production in antiproton-proton annihilations will be carried out with the PANDA experiment at FAIR, and probes the strong interaction in the non-perturbative regime where the relevant degrees of freedom are unclear. The self-analyzing decays of hyperons provide a straightforward way to study reaction dynamics via the measurement of spin observables. READ MORE

  3. 3. GENOME2QUNOME : Interfacing Molecules with Nanomaterials

    Author : Pritam Kumar Panda; Rajeev Ahuja; Yogendra Kumar Mishra; Helder Almeida Santos; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Electronic transport; Contact electrification; Nanomaterials; Zinc Oxide; Tetrapods; 2D-materials; Density functional theory; Non-equilibrium Green s function; Molecular docking; Molecular dynamics simulation; Materialvetenskap; Materials Science; Theoretical Physics; Teoretisk fysik; Physics with specialization in Biophysics; Fysik med inriktning mot biofysik;

    Abstract : The advent of technological furtherance in the biomedical sector and the renaissance of interdisciplinary science enable us to comprehend human lifestyle, and diseases at molecular and nanoscale levels. Lacking a shared theoretical foundation and terminological lexicon between various scientific domains might impede efforts to incorporate biological principles into nanoscience. READ MORE

  4. 4. Towards a realistic hyperon reconstruction with PANDA at FAIR

    Author : Adeel Akram; Karin Schönning; Michael Papenbrock; Carl Nettelblad; Marek Jacewicz; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Hyperon; Extended Target; Tracking; PANDA; FAIR; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik;

    Abstract : The goal of the PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilation at DArmstadt) experiment at FAIR (Facility for Anti-proton and Ion Research) is to study strong interactions in the confinement domain. In PANDA, a continuous beam of anti-protons () will impinge on a fixed hydrogen (p) target inside the High Energy Storage Ring (HESR), a feature intended to attain high interaction rates for various physics studies e. 5. 5. Time-Based Reconstruction of Hyperons at PANDA at FAIR

    Author : Jenny Regina; Karin Schönning; Michael Papenbrock; Pawel Marciniewski; Sophie Grape; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; PANDA; FAIR; hyperons; track reconstruction; online; cellular automaton; 4D tracking; Physics with specialization in Nuclear Physics; Fysik med inriktning mot kärnfysik;

    Abstract : The PANDA (anti-Proton ANnihilation at DArmstadt) experiment at the future FAIR (Facility for Anti-proton and Ion Research) offers unique possibilities for performing hyperon physics.The almost full 4π coverage of the detector will enable the reconstruction of both hyperon and antihyperon which will be created together in proton-antiproton collisions.
