1. On the possible role of serotonin and angiotensin for the respiratory abnormalities observed in panic disorder and premenstrual dysphoria
Abstract : Panic disorder and premenstrual dysphoria are accompanied by intriguing abnormalities related to the control of respiration, including enhanced responsiveness to CO2 and enhanced respiratory variability. These aberrations do not seem to be shared by other psychiatric disorders, but appear to be relatively unique for panic disorder and premenstrual dysphoria. READ MORE

2. Serotonin in Fear and Anxiety
Abstract : That the neurotransmitter serotonin (5-HT) has a central role in fear and anxiety is supported by numerous experimental and clinical studies. Arguably the most illustrative example is the effect of serotonergic-acting drugs, and in particular the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs), in the treatment of anxiety disorders. 3. Influence of serotonin on anxiety-like behavior in rat
Abstract : It is well-established that serotonin is involved in the regulation of mood and behaviour, partly implied by the therapeutic effect of prolonged treatment with selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRI) on mood and anxiety disorders. However, the mechanisms behind the paradoxical exacerbation of anxiety described during initial treatment, as well as behind the therapeutic effects of prolonged treatment with SSRIs, remain poorly understood. 4. In Vitro Kinetics of Ribosomal Incorporation of Unnatural Amino Acids
Abstract : Ribosomal incorporation of unnatural amino acids (AAs) into peptides or proteins has found broad applications in studying translation mechanism, discovering potential therapeutics, and probing protein structure and function. However, such applications are generally limited by the low incorporation efficiencies of the unnatural AAs. READ MORE

5. Genetic content of clinical pneumococcal isolates and its relation to disease outcome
Abstract : Streptococcus pneumoniae is a Gram-positive bacterium that can cause a wide range of diseases. These include otitis media, sinusitis, pneumonia and meningitis. It can, however, also cause asymptomatic carriage thereby behaving almost like a commensal. READ MORE
