1. Oxidative Stress, Angiogenesis and Inflammation in Normal Pregnancy and Postpartum
Abstract : The aims were to investigate oxidative stress (I), angiogenesis (II) and inflammation (III-IV) in healthy women during pregnancy and postpartum. Oxidative stress was estimated by measurement of 8-iso-PGF2α and the antioxidants α- and γ-tocopherol. READ MORE

2. Intraovarian mechanisms influencing the human corpus luteum
Abstract : Introduction: The human corpus luteum (CL) is a transient endocrine gland, only functionally active for about 14 days. Its principal function is to produce and secrete progesterone and thereby support the endometrium for implantation of a blastocyst and prevent rejection of the developing embryo. READ MORE

3. Prostaglandins and Isoprostanes in Relation to Risk Factors for Atherosclerosis : Role of Inflammation and Oxidative Stress
Abstract : Inflammation and oxidative stress may be involved in atherogenesis. This thesis describes clinical studies of prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α), an inflammatory mediator, and the isoprostane 8-iso-PGF2α, a reliable indicator of oxidative stress, and cytokine-related inflammatory mediators and indicators in healthy subjects and in a population-based cohort of Swedish men. 4. A study on the vascular effects of prostaglandin F2α[ and latanaprost in the eye with special reference to the surface hyperaemia after topical administration
Abstract : The ocular hypotensive effect of topically applied prostaglandins is usually accompanied byconjunctival hyperaemia and irritation. The purpose of the present study was to investigate thepharmacological mechanism of the ocular surface hyperaemia induced by topically appliedprostaglandins, particularly prostaglandin F2α (PGF2α) and its synthetic analogue latanoprost, aselective FP prostanoid receptor agonist. 5. Aspects of aqueous humor dynamics : Studies in vivo and in vitro
Abstract : The purpose of the present investigation was to study the effects of PGF2α-l-isopropylester, some neuropeptides, and pharmacological agents on aqueous humor dynamics and intraocular pressure (IOP) in vivo and on adenylate cyclase activity in the nonpigmented ciliary epithelium (NPE) in vitro.Pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP) and vasoactive intestinal polypeptide (VIP) caused a dose-dependent increase in cAMP formation, indicating that the NPE contains receptors for PACAP and VIP coupled to adenylate cyclase activation.
