  1. 21. Information Systems Development for Emerging Public Sector Cross-sector Collaborations : The Case of Swedish Emergency Response

    Author : Kayvan Yousefi Mojir; Sofie Pilemalm; Stefan Holgersson; Johanna Sefyrin; Erik Borglund; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Information systems (IS) seem prevalent in modern societies and have resulted in the rapid digitalisation of different societal sectors. One application domain of IS is emergency response, which is responsible for delivering essential services to save lives and minimise environmental damage in both small , frequent and large-scale emergencies. 2. 22. Soil-living archaea: Influence of pH, carbon and nitrogen on their abundance and activity

    Author : Anna Sterngren; MEMEG; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Archaea; ammonia-oxidizing archaea; soil; AOA; AOB; root exudates; gross nitrification; qPCR; pH; carbon cycle; nitrogen cycle;

    Abstract : During the last decade it has been discovered that around 2% of the soil-living prokaryotes belong to the domain Archaea. In many soils the most abundant archaeal group is the ammonia-oxidizing archaea (AOA) that, in addition to ammonia-oxidizing bacteria (AOB), preform the first and rate-limiting step in the nitrification process. 3. 23. Membrane Induced Structure in Transmembrane Signaling Proteins and Peptides : Peptide–Lipid Interactions Studied by Spectroscopic Methods

    Author : Sofia E. Unnerståle; Lena Mäler; Jason Schnell; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peptide-lipid interaction; paddle domain; voltage gating; voltage sensor domain; micelle; phospholipid bicelle; solution structure; HAMP domain; nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy; circular dichroism spectroscopy; nonspecific interaction; Biophysics; biofysik;

    Abstract : Biological membranes, defining the boundary of cells and eukaryotic organelles, are mainly composed of lipids and membrane proteins. Interactions between these lipids and proteins are needed to preserve the tight seal of the membrane, but also to induce structure for proper function in many membrane proteins. READ MORE

  4. 24. Domain Knowledge Management in Information-providing Dialogue Systems

    Author : Annika Flycht-Eriksson (Silvervarg); Arne Jönsson; Nils Dahlbäck; Lars Degerstedt; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Dialogue management; computer systems; Domain knowledge manager; Databehandling Tillämpningsprogram Systemprogram; Artificiell Intelligens AI; Computer science; Datavetenskap;

    Abstract : In this thesis a new concept called domain knowledge management for informationproviding dialogue systems is introduced. Domain knowledge management includes issues related to representation and use of domain knowledge as well as access of background information sources, issues that previously have been incorporated in dialogue management. 5. 25. Structural transitions of proton-gated ion channels : Involving pH sensing, heterogeneity and lipid interactions

    Author : Urška Rovšnik; Erik Lindahl; Hugues Nury; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; ion channels; cryo-electron microscopy; pH gating; simulations; structure-function relationship; GLIC; DeCLIC; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : Studying protein structure and function involves analyzing the relationship between a protein's three-dimensional assembly and its dynamic biochemical activity. The superfamily of pentameric ligand-gated ion channels (pLGICs) constitutes a classic yet illuminating experimental system for structure-function studies. READ MORE
