1. Method Development in Quantitative and Structural Proteomics using Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance Mass Spectrometry
Abstract : In this thesis, methods for studying different aspects of proteomics were developed with Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance, (FTICR), mass spectrometry. The FTICR technique provides ultra-high mass resolving power, mass accuracy at sub ppm level and sensitivity in the attomole region. READ MORE

2. Method and technique development in peptide and protein mass Spectrometry
Abstract : Mechanistic studies and applicability of several methods and techniques for studying peptides and proteins with mass spectrometry are presented. A model for the protein molecular ion formation in explosive matrix-assisted plasma desorption mass spectrometry is proposed, involving a contribution from the chemical energy release during conversion of the explosive, an enhanced protonation through collisions with products from the explosive decay, and electron scavenging by other products. 3. Advanced computations and mass-spectrometric techniques to unravel the dynamics and interactions of proteins
Abstract : Proteins are an important class of biomolecules, involved in the metabolism, regulation, structure and transport in cells. Unfortunately, many diseases are caused by protein dysfunction. When proteins perform their normal function, they may interact with each other or change their conformation. READ MORE

4. Molecular mechanisms of amyloid self-regulation
Abstract : Amyloid is associated with both pathological protein deposits and the formation of functional protein structures. Therefore, several strategies have evolved to control the formation or inhibition of amyloid in vivo. READ MORE
