  1. 1. Car movement patterns and the PHEV

    Author : Lars Henrik Björnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PHEV; Sweden; PHEV viability; PHEV potential; car movement pattern; GPS logging; BEV; electrification; brake energy regeneration; battery size;

    Abstract : Roughly 30% of Sweden’s total greenhouse gas emissions originate from transport and a majority of them from cars. The plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) avoids the range limitation of the fully electric vehicle while still allowing for a major share of the fuel to be replaced by electricity from the grid and can thereby reduce greenhouse gas emissions, local pollutants and energy security concerns. 2. 2. Assessment of PHEV potential to reduce fuel use in Sweden using GPS data for car movements

    Author : Lars Henrik Björnsson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; PHEV potential; battery size; GPS-logging; PHEV viability; PHEV; Sweden; electrification; Individual movement pattern;

    Abstract : Roughly 30% of Sweden’s total greenhouse gas emissions originate from transport. These emissions need to be reduced to be able to reach the by The Swedish parliament adopted goal of a carbon neutral society in 2050. READ MORE

  3. 3. Wind power in thermal power systems

    Author : Lisa Göransson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; integration; wind power; variation moderator; PHEV; storage;

    Abstract : AbstractWind power is a key technology in the effort to transform the power system in order to reduce its climate impact. However, the ability of wind power to reduce CO2-emissions depends on the properties of the power system. READ MORE

  4. 4. State-of-Health Estimation of Li-ion Batteries: Ageing Models

    Author : Jens Groot; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; State-of-health; lithium-ion battery; EV; PHEV; cycle life test; impedance spectroscopy; DVA; battery testing; ICA; battery model; HEV;

    Abstract : Significant research efforts are being made to understand, and ultimately mitigate, thedegradation of Li-ion batteries upon usage. Currently, battery ageing models are used inorder to optimise the battery usage and to achieve robust battery solutions. READ MORE

  5. 5. State-of-Health Estimation of Li-ion Batteries: Cycle Life Test Methods

    Author : Jens Groot; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; EV; DVA; ICA; cycle life test; HEV; battery testing; State-of-health; battery model; PHEV; lithium-ion battery; impedance spectroscopy;

    Abstract : Despite a rapid development, cost, performance and durability of the energy storage system are still a hindrance for a wide commercialisation of heavy-duty hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). The purpose of the work presented in this thesis is to investigate how different load cycle properties affect the cycle life and ageing processes of Li-ion cells developed for use in HEVs. READ MORE
