1. Production and engineering of a xyloglucan endo-transglycosylase from Populus tremula x tremuloides
Abstract : The aim of this work was to develop a production process for the enzyme xyloglucan endo-transglycosylase from Populus tremula x tremuloides (PttXET16-34). The natural transglycosylating activity of this enzyme has previously been employed in a XET-Technology. READ MORE

2. Diversity and interactions of begomoviruses and their associated DNA-satellites
Abstract : To study the diversity of begomovirus/DNA-satellite complexes, plants of one crop species (okra; Abelmoschus esculentus) and one weed species (Ageratum conyzoides), both with leaf curling symptoms, were analyzed. Sequence analyses of complete genome components revealed a unique begomovirus/DNA-satellite complex in both plants. READ MORE

3. Plant Calreticulins - isoforms, localization and function
Abstract : Calreticulin (CRT) is an endoplasmic reticulum (ER)-located protein involved in quality control of newly synthesized proteins as well as in calcium homeostasis of the cell. Most of what is known about CRT arises from studies of mammalian systems. READ MORE

4. Genomics and transcriptomics of plant beneficial Serratia spp
Abstract : Plant growth stimulation and antagonism against phytopathogens by rhizobacteria are widely recognised phenomena, but the variation in the underlying causal mechanisms between and within different bacterial taxa is still poorly understood. Some bacteria of the genus Serratia are known to be associated with plant roots, and have potential as possible biocontrol agents in agriculture. READ MORE

5. Expression and Function of Human and Plant Aquaporins
Abstract : The aquaporins (AQPs) belong to a family of water permeable membrane channels found in virtually all living organisms. Thirteen isoforms of mammalian AQPs are found, whereas in Arabidopsis thaliana 35 genes encoding AQPs are found. The AQPs are distributed in different organs, cell types and in different subcellular membranes. READ MORE
