1. Pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide : Expression and neurotrophic activity in the rat brain
Abstract : Neurotrophic factors play an important role in regulating naturally occurring cell death during neurogenesis. In addition to classical neurotrophic factors, some neurotransmitters and neuropeptides have been shown to exhibit neurotrophic activities. READ MORE

2. Life cycle assessment and life cycle cost analysis of a single-family house
Abstract : The building industry is responsible for 35% of final energy use and 38% of CO2 emissions at a global level. The European Union aims to reduce CO2 emissions in the building industry by up to 90% by the year 2050. Therefore, it is important to consider the environmental impacts buildings have. READ MORE

3. Diversifying the transcriptome : Adenosine-to-inosine RNA editing in the mammalian brain
Abstract : Metazoan transcriptomes are extensively modified by adenosine-to-inosine (A-to-I) RNA editing, a process by which adenosines within double-stranded RNA are enzymatically deaminated to form inosines. Inosines has base-pairing characteristics similar to guanosine, meaning that A-to-I RNA editing results in functional rewriting of transcripts, affecting many biological processes. READ MORE

4. Regulation of RNA Editing : The impact of inosine on the neuronal transcriptome
Abstract : The transcriptome of the mammalian brain is extensively modified by adenosine to inosine (A-to-I) nucleotide conversion by two adenosine deaminases (ADAR1 and ADAR2). As adenosine and inosine have different base pairing properties, A-to-I RNA editing shapes the functional output of both coding and non-coding RNAs (ncRNAs) in the brain. READ MORE

5. A small amoeba at the crossroads of the big RNAi world : MicroRNA biogenesis and Argonaute function in Dictyostelium discoideum
Abstract : Small non-coding RNA (ncRNA) mediated gene silencing, known as RNAi, is a key regulatory mechanism of gene expression in eukaryotes. MicroRNAs (miRNA), one major type of small ncRNAs, are about 21nt long and bound by Argonaute proteins. READ MORE
