  1. 11. Diffusion of dynamic innovations : A case study of residential solar PV systems

    Author : Emrah Karakaya; Cali Nuur; Antonio Hidalgo; Anna Bergek; KTH; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; Dynamic innovations; diffusion; residential solar; photovoltaics; time; space; Industriell ekonomi och organisation; Industrial Engineering and Management;

    Abstract : In the literature on diffusion of innovations, it is widely known that the characteristics and socio-environmental settings of adopters do evolve in space and time. What about innovations themselves? During the diffusion process, don’t some innovations continuously alter in space and time? If so, how does the dynamic character of an innovation influence the diffusion process? In previous research, it has been often assumed that innovations do not continuously alter or get modified when diffusing from a source to potential adopters. READ MORE

  2. 12. PV water pumping systems for grassland and farmland conservation

    Author : Pietro Elia Campana; Jinyue Yan; Bengt Perers; Mälardalens högskola; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy- and Environmental Engineering; energi- och miljöteknik;

    Abstract : Grassland degradation is considered as one of the worst environmental and economic problems in China because of the negative impacts on water and food security. The application of the photovoltaic water pumping (PVWP) technology for irrigation is an innovative and sustainable solution to curb the progress of grassland desertification and to promote the conservation of farmland in remote areas. Abstract : Universal access to electricity stands high on the global agenda and is regarded as essential for positive development in sectors such as health care, education, poverty reduction, food production and climate change. Decentralized, off-grid electrification is deemed an important complement to centralized grid extension. READ MORE

  4. 14. Dynamics of Energy Systems - Methods of analysing technology change

    Author : Lena Neij; Internationella miljöinstitutet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Energy research; evaluation; market transformation; PV modules; wind power; experience curves; air-distribution; lighting; vintage models; sustainable energy; renewable energy; energy efficiency; Energy; energy system; Energiforskning; Environmental technology; pollution control; Miljöteknik; kontroll av utsläpp;

    Abstract : Technology change will have a central role in achieving a sustainable energy system. This calls for methods of analysing the dynamics of energy systems in view of technology change and policy instruments for effecting and accelerating technology change. In this thesis, such methods have been developed, applied, and assessed. READ MORE

  5. 15. Energy Efficiency in Residential Buildings in Mozambique - Measurements and Simulations
