  1. 6. Catalytic Functionalization of Allylic Substrates by Palladium Pincer Complexes

    Author : Nicklas Selander; Kálmán Szabó; David Milstein; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Catalysis; Palladium; Pincer Complex; Boron; Multicomponent Reaction; Organic chemistry; Organisk kemi; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : This thesis is based on the development of novel catalytic reactions for the synthesis and application of organometallic reagents. The main focus is directed towards organoboronate derivatives. We developed an efficient procedure for converting allylic alcohols to the corresponding allylboronates using palladium pincer complexes as catalysts. READ MORE

  2. 7. Palladium(II)-Catalyzed Oxidative Carbocyclization : Stereoselective Formation of C–C and C–B Bonds

    Author : Tuo Jiang; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Ross Widenhoefer; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Carbocyclization; Palladium catalysis; Oxidation; Enallenes; Enynes; Borylation; Arylation; Asymmetric Catalysis; Chiral Brønsted acids; Chiral anion; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : Transition metal catalysis has emerged as one of the most versatile methods for the selective formation of carbon–carbon and carbon–heteroatom bonds. In particular, oxidative carbon–carbon bond forming reactions have been widely studied due to their atom economic feature. READ MORE

  3. 8. Asymmetric catalysis : ligand design and microwave acceleration

    Author : Ulf Bremberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : This thesis deals partly with the design and synthesis ofligands for use in asymmetric catalysis, and partly with theapplication of microwave heating on metal-based asymmetriccatalytic reactions.Enantiomerically pure pyridyl alcohols and bipyridylalcohols were synthesized from the chiral pool for future usein asymmetric catalysis. 5. 10. Palladium Catalysis in Directed C-H Bond Activation and Cycloisomerisation Reactions

    Author : Michael Oschmann; Jan-Erling Bäckvall; Oscar Verho; Jose Luis Mascareñas; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Palladium II ; Catalysis; C-H Functionalisation; Transamidation; XAS; organisk kemi; Organic Chemistry;

    Abstract : The main focus of this thesis concerns the development of Pd(II)-catalysed synthetic methodologies for the preparation of biologically active compounds.In the first part (paper I-III), unactivated C–H bonds of a cyclobutane derivative are selectively functionalised using a directing group starting from the feedstock compound verbenone (paper I).
