1. Model Selection
Abstract : Before using a parametric model one has to be sure that it offers a reasonable description of the system to be modeled. If a bad model structure is employed, the obtained model will also be bad, no matter how good is the parameter estimation method. There exist many possible ways of validating candidate models. 2. Model Selection and Sparse Modeling
Abstract : Parametric signal models are used in a multitude of signal processing applications. This thesis deals with signals for which there are many candidate models, and it is not a priori known which model is the most appropriate one. READ MORE

3. 3D Human Pose and Shape Estimation Based on Parametric Model and Deep Learning
Abstract : 3D human body reconstruction from monocular images has wide applications in our life, such as movie, animation, Virtual/Augmented Reality, medical research and so on. Due to the high freedom of human body in real scene and the ambiguity of inferring 3D objects from 2D images, it is a challenging task to accurately recover 3D human body models from images. 4. Parametric WCET Analysis
Abstract : In a real-time system, it is crucial to ensure that all tasks of the system hold their deadlines. A missed deadline in a real-time system means that the system has not been able to function correctly. If the system is safety critical, this could potentially lead to disaster. READ MORE

5. Three-wave mixing in Josephson travelling-wave parametric amplifiers
Abstract : This work explores possibilities of building a wide-band, quantum-limited low-noise amplifier by means of three-wave mixing (3WM) in different kinds of Josephson travelling-wave parametric amplifiers (TWPAs). We extend the theory of the continuous three-mode model to include any number of up-converted modes in the small frequency limit where the frequency dispersion is close to linear. READ MORE
