1. Random networks with weights and directions, and epidemics thereon
Abstract : Networks, consisting of nodes and of edges, can be used to model numerous phenomena, e.g, web pages linking to each other or interactions between people in a population. READ MORE

2. On Directed Random Graphs and Greedy Walks on Point Processes
Abstract : This thesis consists of an introduction and five papers, of which two contribute to the theory of directed random graphs and three to the theory of greedy walks on point processes. We consider a directed random graph on a partially ordered vertex set, with an edge between any two comparable vertices present with probability p, independently of all other edges, and each edge is directed from the vertex with smaller label to the vertex with larger label. 3. Protein Folding Studied by Site Directed Mutagenesis
Abstract : The N-terminal RNA binding domain of U1A has been shown to fold in a two-state process without accumulating any intermediates. U1A has a symmetrically curved chevron plot which seems to result mainly from changes of the transition state. READ MORE

4. Some advances in Respondent-driven sampling on directed social networks
Abstract : Respondent-driven sampling (RDS) is one of the most commonly used methods when sampling from hidden or hard-to-reach populations. The RDS methodology combines an improved snowball sampling scheme with a mathematical model that is able to produce unbiased population estimates given that some assumptions about the actual recruitment process are fulfilled.
