16. Emissions from realistic operation of residential wood pellets heating systems
Abstract : Emissions from residential combustion appliances vary significantly depending on the firing behaviours and combustion conditions, in addition to combustion technologies and fuel quality. Although wood pellet combustion in residential heating boilers is efficient, the combustion conditions during start-up and stop phases are not optimal and produce significantly high emissions such as carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon from incomplete combustion. 17. Dispersion modelling of volcanic emissions
Abstract : Gases and particles released by volcanoes pose a serious hazard to humans and society. Emissions can be transported over long distances before being reduced to harmless concentrations. Knowing which areas are, or will be, exposed to volcanic emissions is an important part inreducing the impact on human health and society. READ MORE

18. Remote Measurements of Gas and Particulate Matter Emissions from Individual Ships
Abstract : Shipping significantly contributes to the world's anthropogenic emissions of sulfur, nitrogen species and particulate matter. These species affect the global radiative forcing as well as local acidification, eutrophication and human health. READ MORE

19. Characteristics of Particulate Emissions from Low Temperature Combustion and Renewable Fuels : Aerosol Mass Spectrometry of Refractory Carbonaceous Particles
Abstract : Particulate air pollution is one of the major causes of premature death in the world, and combustion-derived soot emissions contribute strongly to the particulate pollution to which humans are exposed. Black carbon (BC) is one such emission and denotes soot with strong light absorption in the ultraviolet to infrared spectrum. READ MORE

20. Volatility and number measurement of diesel engine exhaust particles
Abstract : Today, emission legislations for engine exhaust particles are mass based. The engines of today are low-emitting with respect to particle mass, with the emissions approaching the detection limit of the current measurement method. This calls for new and improved measurement methods. READ MORE
