11. Wnt-5a signaling in breast cancer metastasis
Abstract : Breast cancer is the most common form of malignancy affecting women in the Western world. Today, anticancer treatment can control primary breast tumors, but treatment and prevention of metastatic disease still represents a major challenge in the management of breast cancer patients. 12. Influence of leukotriene D4 and cyclooxygenase-2 on cell survival
Abstract : The pro-inflammatory effect of leukotrienes is an important element in the pathogenesis of multiple disorders, including asthma and inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). A serious concern for IBD patients is the increased risk of developing colorectal cancer and since there seems to be a general connection between inflammation and cancer we hypothesised that LTD4 induced signalling events could be involved in increasing the tumourgenic potential of cells. 13. Involvement of Eicosanoid Signaling in Intestinal Epithelial Cell Survival
Abstract : Eicosanoids are known to be involved in many different aspects of eukaryotic physiology and pathology. Notably, over the past 10 years much attention has been given to cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) due to its involvement in colorectal cancer. Less is known about the other major branch of arachidonic acid metabolism, namely the lipoxygenases (LO). READ MORE

14. Electron Microscopy in Diagnostic Pathology with Reference to Mesenchymal Tumors
Abstract : The experience acquired over a period of 15 years of diagnostic electron microscopy of fine needle aspirates and surgical specimens constitutes the base for this thesis. Some of the tumors analyzed represent rare soft tissue tumors, and consequently not very often ultrastructurally described. READ MORE

15. Fine needle aspiration diagnosis of spindle cell tumors of soft tissue, including the use of ancillary methods, and correlation with clinical data
Abstract : Fine needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is gaining increased popularity in the diagnosis of soft tissue lesions. FNAC used as a primary examination method to obtain a morphologic diagnosis, has been part of the diagnostic work-up of patients admitted to the Musculoskeletal Tumor Center of the Lund University Hospital since 1972.
