  1. 1. Interface Defeat and Penetration: Two Modes of Interaction between Metallic Projectiles and Ceramic Targets

    Author : Patrik Lundberg; Bengt Lundberg; Charles E. Anderson Jr.; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Engineering physics; projectile; target; impact; interface defeat; penetration; tungsten; ceramic; replica scaling; Teknisk fysik; Engineering physics; Teknisk fysik;

    Abstract : Ceramics constitute an important group of low-density armour materials. Their high intrinsic strength makes it possible to design ceramic armour systems capable of defeating projectiles directly on the ceramic surface. READ MORE

  2. 2. Impact of Metallic Projectiles on a Ceramic Target Surface : Transition Between Interface Defeat and Penetration

    Author : René Renström; Bengt Lundberg; Patrik Lundberg; Nils-Gunnar Ohlson; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : Engineering physics; Projectile; Cylindrical; Conical; Yield strength; Compressibility; Perfect flow; Self-similar flow; Interface defeat; Dwell; Teknisk fysik; Teknisk fysik med inriktning mot hållfasthetslära; Engineering Science with specialization in Solid Mechanics;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis is to gain understanding of the load on flat target surfaces produced by projectile impact. Models are proposed from which upper and lower bounds can be derived for the transition be-tween interface defeat and normal penetration. READ MORE

  3. 3. Does foreign ownership matter? : Multinational firms, productivity and spillovers

    Author : Patrik Karpaty; Lars Lundberg; Erik Mellander; Holger Görg; Örebro universitet; []
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; FDI; Multinational firms; productivity; export; spillovers; Economics; Nationalekonomi; Economics; Nationalekonomi;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of four essays dealing with the role of foreign owned firms for the development of productivity and exports in Swedish manufacturing. The essays share a common theme, i.e. that multinational firms (MNF) possess some intangible assets that could be transferred to their affiliates. READ MORE

  4. 4. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease : Aspects on Diagnosis and Long-term Prognosis

    Author : Patrik Nasr; Stergios Kechagias; Mattias Ekstedt; Peter Lundberg; Einar Stefán Björnsson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is the most common cause of chronic liver disease affecting approximately 25% of the global population and is commonly recognized as the hepatic manifestation of the metabolic syndrome. The histological spectrum of NAFLD ranges from isolated steatosis to non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), with risk of developing fibrosis and subsequent cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma.
