  1. 1. System studies of MCFC power plants

    Author : Benny Fillman; Pehr Björnbom; Professor Mats Westermark; Gábor Merényi; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Fuel cells; fuel cell systems; system studies; process simulation; molten carbonate; Brennstoffzellen; Brennstoffzellensystem; Systemanalyse; Prozeßsimulation; Bränsleceller; bränslecellssystem; systemstudier; processimulering; smältkarbonatbränslecell; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : Die Brennstoffzelle ist ein elektrochemischer Reaktor und wandelt chemisch gebundene Energie direkt in elektrische Energie um. In der stationären Energieerzeugung ist der Brennstoffzellenstapel selbst nur ein kleiner Bestandteil des vollständigen Systems. READ MORE

  2. 2. Kinetic modelling of autoignition phenomena

    Author : David Johansson; Pehr Björnbom; Johan Andrae; Ulf Henriksson; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : To fully understand the elementary reactions behind the ignition of automotive fuels the interaction between the fuel components must be known. The ignition initiation is most often caused by loss of an H radical from a reactive fuel molecule, for example n-heptane. The formed alkyl radical is prone to react with oxygen under lean conditions. READ MORE

  3. 3. Nanoscientific investigations of electrode materials for supercapacitors

    Author : Helena Malmberg; Pehr Björnbom; Anders Lundblad; Signe Kjelstrup; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Supercapacitor; double layer; microelectrode; ionic transport; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : This doctoral thesis gives background to the field of electrochemical energy storage in supercapacitors. It attempts to place the supercapacitor device in context of available and future technologies for alternative energy systems for transportation. READ MORE

  4. 4. Electrochemical and ion transport characterisation of a nanoporous carbon derived from SiC

    Author : Marcelo Zuleta; Pehr Björnbom; Derek Pletcher; KTH; []
    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; Chemical engineering; Cottrell equation; radial diffusion; chronoamperometry; potential step measurements; microelectrode technique; nanoporous carbon; Kemiteknik; Chemical engineering; Kemiteknik;

    Abstract : In this doctoral project, a relatively new form of carbon material, with unique narrow pore size distribution around 7 Å and with uniform structure, has been electrochemically characterised using the single particle microelectrode technique. The carbon has been used as electrode material for supercapacitors. READ MORE
