3. Experimental studies of the regulations of synthesis and release of tissue-type plasminogen activator from vascular endothelium
Abstract : The fibrinolytic system has several important functions and one crucial function is the prevention and removal of fibrin deposits in blood vessels. Tissue-type plasminogen activator (t-PA) plays a key role in this process, and in vitro data suggest that an acute release of t-PA is induced as a thromboprotective response whenever clotting mechanisms are initiated.
