  1. 1. Tools for Autonomous Process Control

    Author : Anders Wallén; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sequential control; software architectures; fast set point response; spectral estimation; frequency domain identification; relay feedback; non-linear system identification; Autonomous Control; Process Control; Grafcet; Automation; robotics; control engineering; Automatiska system; robotteknik; reglerteknik;

    Abstract : There is an ongoing trend towards higher automation level in process control systems. The purpose of a plant is to manufacture some product at a high production rate with a consistent quality, while minimizing the use of resources in terms of energy consumption, raw material and labor. 2. 2. Altered movement patterns and deviating muscular activity in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament injury

    Author : Anna Trulsson; Människan i rörelse: hälsa och rehabilitering; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Movement pattern; Physiotherapy; Motor control; Sensorimotor control; Neuromuscular control; Anterior cruciate ligament; Muscular activity; Motor skills; Single leg squat; Electromyography EMG ; Postural orientation; Assessment; Task performance; Reproducibility of findings; Performance test; Hop test; knee; dynamic joint stability;

    Abstract : The purpose of this thesis was to increase the understanding of altered movement patterns in individuals with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury in order to improve ACL rehabilitation, and to develop an observational instrument termed Test for Substitution Patterns (TSP) for standardized, quantifiable scoring of altered movement patterns in legs and trunk. In all, 142 participants, 93 with ACL-rupture (37 women) and 49 uninjured participants were investigated. READ MORE

  3. 3. Modelling and Control Methods with Applications to Mechanical Waves

    Author : Hans Norlander; Bengt Carlsson; Torsten Söderström; Jonas Sjöberg; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; automatic control; pole placement; linearization; vibration control; distributed parameter systems; wave propagation; Automatic Control; Reglerteknik;

    Abstract : Models, modelling and control design play important parts in automatic control. The contributions in this thesis concern topics in all three of these concepts.The poles are of fundamental importance when analyzing the behaviour of a system, and pole placement is an intuitive and natural approach for control design. 4. 4. CPU Resource Management and Noise Filtering for PID Control

    Author : Vanessa Romero Segovia; Institutionen för reglerteknik; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; resource management; embedded systems; real-time systems; multimedia; multicore; measurement noise; filtering; trade-offs; robustness; performance; SDU; noise gain; PID control;

    Abstract : The first part of the thesis deals with adaptive CPU resource management for multicore platforms. The work was done as a part of the resource manager component of the adaptive resource management framework implemented in the European ACTORS project. The framework dynamically allocates CPU resources for the applications. READ MORE
