  1. 16. On Performance of Digital Radio Receiver in Non-Gaussian Interference

    Author : Kia Wiklundh; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; bandwidth conversion; performance estimation; APD; interference; minimum shift keying; man-made noise; Gaussian approximation; measurement; emission requirements; non-Gaussian interference; micro-wave oven; MSK; amplitude probability distribution; emission;

    Abstract : Interference from electrical equipment can degrade a co-located digital radio receiver severely. To avoid this performance degradation it is necessary to have estimation methods to predict the influence from an interference environment on a radio receiver in advance. READ MORE

  2. 17. Occupational performance in school settings : evaluation and intervention using the school AMPS

    Author : Michaela Munkholm; Anne G. Fisher; Britta Löfgren; Curt Hagquist; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Occupational therapy; Assessment; Rasch measurement; Children; schoolwork performance; Differential item functioning; Differential test funktioning; Outcomes; Efficacy of intervention; school-based practice; instrument development; Occupational therapy; Arbetsterapi; Occupational therapy; arbetsterapi;

    Abstract : Background: This thesis is was designed to evaluate aspects of reliability and validity of the School Version of the Assessment of Motor and Process Skills (School AMPS) (Fisher, Bryze, Hume, & Griswold, 2007), an observation-based evaluation of quality of occupational performance when children perform schoolwork tasks in school settings. The long term goal was to contribute to knowledge about children at risk or with mild disabilities who experience difficulties with occupational performance in school settings, and describe how the School AMPS can be used when a true top−down process of planning and implementing school-based occupational therapy services is implemented in a Swedish context. 3. 18. Calculation and Measurement Methods for the Performance of Solar Collectors. Models of Flat Plate Collectors, Transparent Insulation and Efficiency Factors

    Author : Bengt Hellström; Avdelningen för Energi och byggnadsdesign; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Transparent insulation; Test method; Calculation method; Concentrating collector; Efficiency factor; Fin efficiency; Flat plate collector; Heat conductivity; Honeycomb; Measurement method; Performance; Solar transmittance; Solar collector; Collector model; Energy research; Energiforskning;

    Abstract : This thesis deals with models of flat plate collectors, transparent insulation and efficiency factors. An equation for the energy output from a glazed flat plate collector is derived by modelling the collector efficiency factor, F´ as the sum of a constant and a temperature dependent part. READ MORE

  4. 19. Performance Modeling of Multi-core Systems : Caches and Locks

    Author : Xiaoyue Pan; Bengt Jonsson; David Whalley; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; performance modeling; performance analysis; multi-core; cache; lock;

    Abstract : Performance is an important aspect of computer systems since it directly affects user experience. One way to analyze and predict performance is via performance modeling. In recent years, multi-core systems have made processors more powerful while keeping power consumption relatively low. READ MORE

  5. 20. Ground Object Recognition using Laser Radar Data : Geometric Fitting, Performance Analysis, and Applications

    Author : Christna Grönwall; Fredrik Gustafsson; Kalle Åström; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Laser radar; object detection; object recognition; performance; least squares; ICP; Cramér-Rao; Signal processing; Signalbehandling;

    Abstract : This thesis concerns detection and recognition of ground object using data from laser radar systems. Typical ground objects are vehicles and land mines. For these objects, the orientation and articulation are unknown. The objects are placed in natural or urban areas where the background is unstructured and complex. READ MORE
