  1. 1. Motivational aspects of test-taking : measuring test-taking motivation in Swedish national test contexts

    Author : Eva Knekta; Hanna Eklöf; Anna Sundström; Rolf Vegar Olsen; Umeå universitet; []
    Keywords : SOCIAL SCIENCES; SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; Test-taking motivation; Swedish national tests; validity; expectancy-value theory; task value; expectancies; young adolescents; self-report instrument; interview; structural equation modelling; test stakes; didactics of educational measurement; beteendevetenskapliga mätningar;

    Abstract : The overall aim of the work underlying this thesis was to improve the understanding of students’ test-taking motivation in connection to achievement tests for young adolescents. The thesis includes four studies and a summary. All four studies explore test-taking motivation and are all connected to validity in one way of another. READ MORE

    Keywords : ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Performance; Deformation; Model not math ; Rutting wheel ; Viscoelasticity; Elasticity; Axle load; Flexible pavement; Laboratory not an organization ; Test; Thesis; Heavy vehicle simulator; Wheel tracking test; Road: Pavement design; Road: Pavement design; Flexible Pavement; Pavement Performance Models; Multilayer Elastic Theory; Linear Viscoelasticity; Rutting; Accelerated Pavement Testing; Heavy Vehicle Simulator; Transportvetenskap; Transport Science; Civil and Architectural Engineering; Byggvetenskap;

    Abstract : Mechanistic-Empirical  (M-E)  pavement  design  procedures  are  composed  of  a  reliable  response model to estimate the state of stress in the pavement and distress models in order to predict the different types of pavement distresses due to the prevailing traffic and environmental conditions. One of the main objectives of this study was to develop a response model based on multilayer elastic  theory   (MLET)  with  improved  computational  performance  by   optimizing  the   time consuming parts of the MLET processes. Abstract : Automated software test execution is a critical part of the modern software development process, where rapid feedback on the product quality is expected. It is of high importance that impediments related to test execution automation are prevented and removed as quickly as possible. READ MORE

  5. 5. Experimental test setups and simulations in skiing mechanics

    Author : Mikael Swarén; Anders Eriksson; Thomas Stöggl; Strukturmekanik KTH; []
    Keywords : sports equipment; test methods; sports mechanics; alpine skiing; cross-country skiing; poles; helmets; glide; performance;

    Abstract : Product testing and development are essential parts in sports and for the athletes in their quest to reach the podium. Manufacturers of sports equipment often use basic test methods which do not test the equipment in a sports specific way. READ MORE
