  1. 21. Mesentric hemodynamics and effects of angiotensin II during circulatory stress

    Author : Mats Laesser; Göteborgs universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Renin-angiontensin system; angiotensin II; intestines; hemodynamics; perfusion; hemorrhage; hypovolemia; endotoxemia;

    Abstract : Mesenteric hypoperfusion and ischemia is considered to be deleterious to the intestinal mucosal barrier function and it is suggested that the renin-angiotensin system plays a pivotal role in the regulation of mesenteric perfusion.The present thesis examines the effects of the specific AT1 receptor blocker candesartan on mesenteric hemodynamics during acute hypovolemia and endotoxinemia. 2. 22. Placental Function : An Epidemiological and Magnetic Resonance Study

    Author : Sara Sohlberg; Anna-Karin Wikstrom; Matts Olovsson; Ajlana Mulic-Lutvica; Johan Wikström; Karel Marsal; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; body height; body mass index; early preeclampsia; late preeclampsia; magnetic resonance imaging; placenta; perfusion; IVIM; risk factors; energy metabolism; magnetic resonance spectroscopy; 31P-MRS; Obstetrik och gynekologi; Obstetrics and Gynaecology;

    Abstract : Placental function is central for normal pregnancy and in many of the major pregnancy disorders. We used magnetic resonance imaging techniques to investigate placental function in normal pregnancy, in early and late preeclampsia and in intrauterine growth restriction. READ MORE

  3. 23. Preoperative MRI and PET in suspected low-grade gliomas : Radiological, neuropathological and clinical intersections

    Author : Anna Falk Delgado; Elna-Marie Larsson; Anja Smits; Jens Sörensen; John Hald; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Low-grade glioma; MRI; PET; FA; MD; Perfusion; Diffusion; Neuropathology; Oligodendroglioma; Astrocytoma; PET; tractography; DTI; DTT; Radiologi; Radiology;

    Abstract : Background: Gliomas are neuroepithelial tumours classified by cell type and grade. In adults, low-grade gliomas are comprised mainly of astrocytomas and oligodendrogliomas grade II. READ MORE

  4. 24. Perfusion Chromatography of membrane proteins

    Author : Margrit Roobol-Bóza; Himadri Pakrasi; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; biokemi; Biochemistry;

    Abstract : According to genomics up to 40% of all eukaryotic proteins are membrane bound. Their isolation from the biomembrane is essential for structural and functional studies. The major task in membrane protein isolation is obtaining a pure and homogeneous population, while maintaining biological activity, native conformation, and keeping cofactors bound. READ MORE

  5. 25. Cerebral Perfusion during Cardiopulmonary Bypass

    Author : Thomas Tovedal; Fredrik Lennmyr; Stefan Thelin; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Impaired superior vena cava (SVC) cannula outflow during cardiopulmonary bypass (CPB) is a frequent issue, often manifested by only marginal changes in routine monitoring parameters. Nevertheless, significant impact on cerebral perfusion may result. READ MORE
