  1. 1. Period integrals and other direct images of D-modules

    Author : Ketil Tveiten; Rikard Bøgvad; Uli Walther; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; D-modules; Rings of differential operators; Period integrals; Mathematics; matematik;

    Abstract : This thesis consists of three papers, each touching on a different aspect of the theory of rings of differential operators and D-modules. In particular, an aim is to provide and make explicit good examples of D-module directimages, which are all but absent in the existing literature. READ MORE

  2. 2. Computing Vector-valued Modular Forms of Congruence Types and of Some Extension Types

    Author : Tobias Magnusson; Chalmers tekniska högskola; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; eisenstein series; modular forms; iterated eichler-shimura integrals; vector-valued modular forms;

    Abstract : This thesis explores applications of vector-valued modular forms of congruence and extension types to scalar-valued modular forms for congruence subgroups with a character, higher order modular forms, and iterated Eichler-Shimura integrals of depth one and two, including considerable generalizations thereof. In \textsc{Paper I} (co-authored with Martin Raum), we present an algorithm for computing bases for spaces of vector-valued modular forms of congruence type and of weight at least $2$ in terms of products of components of vector-valued Eisenstein series. 3. 3. Delocalization in nonperiodic systems

    Author : Lars Kroon; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : The localization properties of non-interacting linear excitations in one-dimensional aperiodically ordered structures are investigated from a theoretical point of view. The models used have various relevance for real systems, like quasicrystals, photonic crystals, and deterministic aperiodic superlattices. READ MORE

  4. 4. Amoebas and Laurent series

    Author : Mikael Forsberg; KTH; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The amoeba of a polynomialpis the logarithmic image of the zero set of thepolynomial. l/pcan be developed into several Laurent series. Thelogarithmic image of every such Laurent series have a domain ofconvergence and its loga rithmic image is a component of thecomplement of the amoeba of p. This is the background for thethesis subjett. READ MORE
