    Author : Jenny Alfredsson Timmins; Pernilla Bjerling; Wendy Bickmore; Uppsala universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; fission yeast; heterochromatin; subnuclear organisation; chromo domain proteins; boundary elements; transcriptional regulation; epigenetics; Molecular biology; Molekylärbiologi; Cell and molecular biology; Cell- och molekylärbiologi; Genetics; Genetik; Molecular Biology; molekylärbiologi; Genetics; genetik;

    Abstract : In eukaryotes the genome adopts a non-random spatial organisation, which is important for gene regulation. However, very little is known about the driving forces behind nuclear organisation. READ MORE

  2. 2. Chromatin Dynamics in the Fission Yeast, Schizosaccharomyces pombe

    Author : Carolina Kristell; Pernilla Bjerling; Per Sunnerhagen; Uppsala universitet; []

    Abstract : In the eukaryotic cell nucleus, spatial organization and dynamics of the genome is important in the regulation of gene expression. This thesis describes the use of the fission yeast, Schizosaccharomyces pombe, to study chromatin regulation and dynamics. We used nitrogen starvation to induce transcription of genes in fission yeast cells. READ MORE

  3. 3. The CHD chromatin remodeling factors in schizosaccharomyces pombe

    Author : Julian Walfridsson; Karl Ekwall; Pernilla Bjerling; Stefan Björklund; Södertörns högskola; Karolinska Institutet; Karolinska Institutet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES;

    Abstract : Regulation of chromatin structure is essential in a wide variety of processes including transcriptional regulation, recombination, replication, chromosome segregation, development and differentiation. The enzymes that are central in regulating chromatin structure can be classified into two major groups. READ MORE
