  1. 1. Snow particle size investigations using digital image analysis - implications for ground observations and remote sensing of snow

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology (INK), Stockholm University

    Author : Susanne Ingvander; Peter Peter Jansson; Matti Matti Leppäranta; [2011]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; snow; remote sensing; particle size; Antarctica; in-situ sampling; seasonal snow; Physical Geography; naturgeografi;

    Abstract : During the past century climate warming has caused rapid changes in the Cryosphere. This has increased the need to accurately monitor rates of change in snow and ice in remote or sparsely populated areas where environmental observing capacity is limited. Monitoring snow cover requires understanding of the snow pack and the snow surface attributes. READ MORE

  2. 2. Holocene dynamics in subarctic peat plateaus of west-central Canada : Vegetation succession, peat accumulation and permafrost history

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Institutionen för naturgeografi och kvartärgeologi

    Author : A. Britta K. Sannel; Peter Kuhry; Peter Jansson; Ian Brown; [2007]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; peatlands; permafrost; carbon accumulation; fire; subarctic; Holocene; NATURAL SCIENCES Earth sciences Exogenous earth sciences Physical geography; NATURVETENSKAP Geovetenskap Exogen geovetenskap Naturgeografi;

    Abstract : Dynamics in vegetation, permafrost and peat and net carbon accumulation rates throughout the Holocene have been studied in two subarctic peat plateaus of west-central Canada through plant macrofossil analysis, geochemical analyses and AMS radiocarbon dating. Peatland formation at the studied sites began around 6600-5900 cal yr BP as a result of paludification of upland forests. READ MORE

  3. 3. Temporal and spatial dynamics in subarctic peat plateaus and thermokarst lakes

    University dissertation from Stockholm : Department of Physical Geography and Quaternary Geology (INK), Stockholm University

    Author : A. Britta K. Sannel; Peter Kuhry; Peter Jansson; Ian A. Brown; Serge Payette; [2010]
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Peatlands; permafrost; subarctic; peat plateau; thermokarst lake; macrofossil analysis; carbon nitrogen ratio; peat accumulation; carbon accumulation; remote sensing; binary encoding; time-series analysis; naturgeografi; Physical Geography;

    Abstract : Permafrost peatlands are widespread at high northern latitudes and are important soil organic carbon reservoirs. A future warming in these areas, as suggested by global climate models, can cause thawing and increased ground subsidence (thermokarst), resulting in changes in surface hydrology and ecosystem functioning. 4. 4. Studies of Nuclear fuel by means of Nuclear Spectroscopy Methods

    University dissertation from Uppsala : Uppsala universitet

    Author : Peter Jansson; [2000]

    Abstract : This paper which is a thesis for the title teknologie licentiat is a summary text of several works performed by the author regarding spectroscopic measurements on spent nuclear fuel. Methods for determining the decay heat of spent nuclear fuel by means of gammaray spectroscopy and for verifying the integrity of nuclear fuel by means of tomography is presented. READ MORE

  5. 5. Våldets onda cirklar En explorativ undersökning av mäns barndomsupplevelser, maskuliniteter, känslor, våld samt terapeutiska interventioner mot våld

    University dissertation from Jönköping : Jönköping University, School of Health and Welfare

    Author : Peter M. Jansson; Steven Saxonberg; Christian Kullberg; Pia Bülow; Torsten Blomkvist; Margareta Hydén; [2016]
    Keywords : SAMHÄLLSVETENSKAP; SOCIAL SCIENCES; interdisciplinär; våld; skam; stolthet; maskulinitet; terapi; barn; kvinnor; kritisk realism;

    Abstract : Avhandlingens överordnade syfte är att utforska möjligheterna för ett integrerat forskningsperspektiv på mäns våld samt exemplifiera hur sådan forskning kan bedrivas. Det konkreta syftet är att öka kunskapen om hur våldsamma mäns barndomsupplevelser, socialisation, maskulinitetskonstruktion och emotioner kan relateras till deras våld mot andra män, mot sig själva och mot kvinnor samt till hur terapeutiska interventioner mot våld kan analyseras och utvecklas i korrespondens med denna kunskap.
