  1. 1. Development of Alumina Forming Alloys for High-Temperature Energy Applications

    Author : Peter Dömstedt; Mats Lundberg; Peter Szakalos; Ill Soon Hwang; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; Kemi; Chemistry;

    Abstract : Liquid lead as heat transfer fluid presents attractive features for future power technologies, such as next-generation nuclear reactors, thermal solar power, and thermal storage. Liquid lead has excellent heat transfer properties well suited for operating at high temperatures. READ MORE

  2. 2. Micro-structural based acoustic modelling of anisotropic open cell materials

    Author : Eva Lundberg; Huina Mao; Bradley Semeniuk; Peter Göransson; Mathieu Gaborit; Romain Rumpler; Peter Göransson; Elke Deckers; KTH; []
    Keywords : TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; TEKNIK OCH TEKNOLOGIER; ENGINEERING AND TECHNOLOGY; sound absorption; vehicle; anisotropic; foam; micro-structure; resource efficient; transfer matrix method; ljudabsorption; anisotrop; skum; mikrostruktur; TMM; fordon; resurseffektiv; Farkostteknik; Vehicle and Maritime Engineering;

    Abstract : A method for the calculation of the acoustic performance of open-cell foammaterials is discussed. From a known micro-structural geometry and theconstituent material, the relevant acoustic properties are computed using apreviously published analytical method for the calculation of the dynamicdrag impedance and a previously published method for the calculation of theelastic moduli. 3. 3. On methods for estimating oceanic flow

    Author : Jenny A. U. Nilsson; Peter Lundberg; Peter Sigray; Bert Rudels; Stockholms universitet; []
    Keywords : NATURVETENSKAP; NATURAL SCIENCES; Ocean monitoring techniques; Barotropic flow; Baroclinic flow; Hydraulic theory; Baltic Sea; Bahía de Concepción; Oceanography; Oceanografi; Oceanography; oceanografi;

    Abstract : The aim of this thesis was to estimate and possibly quantify ocean flow by utilizing conventional and novel observational methods as well as model results. Motionally induced voltages, from a cable-based observational system in the Baltic Sea, were analysed to determine their utility for ocean monitoring. READ MORE

  4. 4. Non-Invasive Assessment of Liver Fibrosis with 31P-Magnetic Resonance Spectroscopy and Dynamic Contrast Enhanced Magnetic Resonance Imaging

    Author : Bengt Norén; Staffan Wirell; Peter Lundberg; Peter Leander; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : ;

    Abstract : The present study aims at demonstrating phosphorus metabolite concentration changes and alterations in uptake/excretion of a hepatocyte specific contrast agent in patients with diffuse - or suspected diffuse - liver disease by applying two non-invasive quantitative MR techniques and to compare the results with histo-pathological findings, with focus on liver fibrosis.In the first study phosphorus-31 MR spectroscopy using slice selection (DRESS) was implemented. 5. 5. Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging for Clinical Diagnosis : Exploring and Improving the Examination Chain

    Author : Mattias Ragnehed; Peter Lundberg; Maria Engström; Örjan Smedby; Peter Fransson; Linköpings universitet; []
    Keywords : MEDICIN OCH HÄLSOVETENSKAP; MEDICAL AND HEALTH SCIENCES; Radiology; Radiologi;

    Abstract : Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI) is a relatively new imaging technique, first reported in 1992, which enables mapping of brain functions with high spatial resolution. Functionally active areas are distinguished by a small signal increase mediated by changes in local blood oxygenation in response to neural activity. READ MORE
